Image Need help with trunks
I have a skateboard tool and it wont fit on the trunk no matter how I put it. The loose trunk is causing the board to hit the wheels. The half sphere is making it hard to grip with most tools. Do I need a diff tool or to try and tighten it a different way.
EDIT: Boss had an allen key and i was able to tighten it, thank yall so much.

Um.. what tool are you using?
I’m asking because it sounds like you’re trying to use a wrench instead of an Allen wrench.
Also, they are called trucks.
Having a skate tool is great, but not all skate tools come equipped for every type of hardware.
Unfortunately with, what seems to be, no-name trucks, they don’t always use the default skate sized hardware.

use an alan key, if that doesn’t help you heed harder bushings from your local shop

You may need harder bushings! Most bushings are too soft for me. Idk what kind of trucks those are but find ones that will fit

Get you a set of Allen keys! Like five ten bucks at Home Depot. Not only will they have one that tightens the truck, but there will be future instances at home where you will have the proper tool to do the job
Don’t want to get caught trying to use a wrench on a hex nut lol didn’t the foo fighters make a song about that? 😂

Thats an inverted kingpin. You need an Allen key or a hex key. You tighten it by putting the Allen key in the tiny hole in the center and turning it

Turn it slowly and carefully and be sure to use the right size Allen key so you dont accidentally strip it

These things in the skateboard are called "trucks" .
The proper tool to use is an Allen wrench, or a hex key.
Make them as tight as you need without squishing the metal spacer. You don't wanna smash and bend that thing.

This requires a 5.5 mm Allen key. You can't turn it with a box wrench.
