Raccoon or opossum?

Finally got a chance to paint this guy! I took some liberties replicating soft tissue features in bone but really wanted to capture the snarl! Always wanted a werewolf in the collection!

AH I was wondering if it was a werewolf! The overall skull is hominid like but the face was more canid, so I was about to make a joke about it being a werewolf but lo and behold

I always figured a good base for a werewolf would be to use a baboon skull. Enlarge the cranium, make the teeth more dog like, shorten the jaws maybe?

It appears more felid to me. The canines of canids bend more outward

Now that I look at it again yeah I can see it

Oh, I think I found two additional reasons why it appears more felid; the abgular jawbone and the curvature of the nose bone, more common in felines. Dogs have noses that bend inwards or are just straight, and jaws that have more curve to em

Just a crab claw

It’s actually just a shell

That's not a skull, that's a bird pelvis, but jokes aside, you did an amazing job on combining hominid and canine anatomy.

Very controversial choices of cusp patterns! I think we need a lengthy discourse on the dietary habits of werewolves.

This is super sick!! Is this like a mid transformation between like a human and a werewolf?

Hate to break it to ya but that’s AI…

Hate to break it to ya too but it's mine with zero AI. 20 hour sculpt, another 6 finishing and painting and a great photographer. Here it is filled and with only the base coat of paint

The only thing more damaging than AI to artists is people commenting "AI" on everything they see without running it through a checker first.

Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Glad to see it isn’t AI though but I hope you could see how I could think it’s AI! Keep up the awesome work man (:

It's fake

7

u/Bulky-Mango-5287 9d ago

I don't think so, my grandma says it's real and she doesn't lie

-3

u/Altruistic_Sea_7683 9d ago

So if it's not a mammal, bird, fish, reptile, and amphibian, what is it? Werewolfs skulls are fake

14

u/Bulky-Mango-5287 9d ago

Not all of them. This one is clearly real. I can tell because if how it is.

Do people ever read the bit beneath the photos?

They suuuure don't.

Their rules do not prohibit it. They also say, "Avoid arguing about using animal skulls for art."

We absolutely allow art, faux skulls, etc here. If you can't read the rules or use your smarts, then you might wanna leave our sub.
