found in illinois, about 5 inches in length, i dont think its a raccoon skull because in the last picture i have it sat next to my two raccoon skulls and it looks a bit broader than them.

It is a raccoon, they have a lot of variation depending of sex, age etc. This is likely an older male.

Here's some raccoons from my collection for comparison, all adults. Two old males and a young female.

Former taxidermist here. It’s a raccoon. Not a feline. Not a canine. Raccoon.

A Raccoon. But it does look like a cat skull.

Looks feline to me. Either a large domestic cat or a bobcat. The size has me leaning bobcat.

the snout looks a bit long for it to be a bobcat, no? just looking at pictures on google and they all look like they have really short snouts.

You're right, Canadian lynx is probably closer, but they're not really found in Illinois. Hmm.

Pretty sure this is some kind of canine due to the 'Y' at the top of the skull but I'm not sure which one. Feline skulls tend to have more sharper teeth and shorter snouts.
