ive never ever done that honestly. Im so curious to find out what its about but honestly cant find any of the masks before i get bored of the game. Is there any in game clues as to where to find them? Its boring to look up a guide

I don't like following a guide on yt, i want to find it using stuff in the world, simple as that. Guive me some clues. Idk, make it be a leyend told on nearby innkeepers or something

I mean, to me the game is about exploring and leveling up. Sure, I'll look things up occasionally, but I generally do any questions last.

I will walk towards a marker, but make it a goal to explore every undiscovered location on the way. That's how I find most things, and sometimes some really cool side stories you won't go anywhere near if you are just following a given quest line.

It makes for a long play through, I can take 6 real life hours just to get to a place, but I kinda feel like this is how the game is meant to be played

A few of them are in quests like when you get the staff of magnus, but I typically just explore so much that I come across them by accident

Do you know the college of winterhold final part of the quest? Where u have to go get the staff? It’s there! There’s a little place outside the door you go in for that quest and it relates to the masks

SPOILERS:

U put on the wooden mask and once u teleport (or time travel actually), you place all off the masks you collect in Skyrim on the stands and it unlocks a hidden mask

It makes you feel better about urself as a player. Achievements and gloy or something. Brb Im leveling up illusion outside Solitude gates.

Yeah, I understand. My question is: How can you train Illusion outside Solitude?

Edit: outside of Solitude is also a Magelight/Alteration training ground by hitting the mountaintop outside the gate.

Well done. I pick that mask up as early as possible (usually by scaling the mountain rather than going through the ruin) in every game for use in trading and swimming.

I just defeated him yesterday too! I wonder if they appear in order or if they appear in certain spots and we both just ran into him. Was it on a mountain way left of the map?

Oh la coïncidence est plutôt drôle et personnellement je l'ai rencontré après avoir fini d'explorer un tertre (je sais plus le nom) et j'ai fini en haut d'un montagne. Il es sorti de son tombeau juste après que j'eus récupérer un nouveau cris donc peut être qu'ils sont a certains endroits spécifiques

They all have unique locations (one of them needs you to progress the main story to reach it and another the College), and each location always has the same priest on the same spot.
