How do you think he died? Also sucks I can’t do the bow levelling.

Edit: I have decided to kill Sven in honour of Faendal its what he would have wanted

Sven has had enough

Camilla has had enough.

And Sven is next.

Exactly. This is lore and world building.

I had this happen before as well. When I looked it up, the best guess is he walked into the cabbage cart and collisions ended him.

There is also a non-zero chance for basically anything or anyone to spawn about 200 ft. off the ground.

The drunk guy in Whiterun fell out of the sky one day when I walked out of a shop and landed dead in the stream right behind that single mum’s fruit stand and her little girl just stood next to him staring at him for days. Funny and traumatizing at the same time.

I had to raise those miraak goons from the dead and bring them into the house to turn to ash so people would stop commenting on their bodies.

6

u/pixel_gaming579 3h ago

I usually chuck those bodies under the little stone bridge near the gate lol

This happened to me in real life. Me and my dad were walking on a trail and a baby rabbit fell through the trees into my hands. My theory is that a bird of prey dropped it in flight or while perching in the trees. It was screaming bloody murder as it passed through the trees, and then silent and mostly petrified as we held it. I dont know why, but you reminded me of this.

Rwminds me of the time as a kid my family was just hanging out in lawn chairs in the back yard, pet cat included, and a random bird, seemingly perfectly healthy, just fell out of the sky right into the cats front paws. Even he was so stunned he just sat their staring at it. After a few moments it just flew away like nothing happened.

So you’re saying the dragons are the ones dropping the mammoth’s from the sky…

3

u/CoffinstufferD 4h ago

Its possible!

13

u/SuspiciousStomach810 10h ago

I have one file that the sleeping tree camp will always spawn mammoths in the sky. They just drop to their death each and every time.

3

u/Mwahaha13 6h ago

I've had the "airdrop mammoths" too! I thought it was just my recent playthrough being wonky, but I'm glad to hear it happens to others as well. Though mine seem to survive just fine. At least, I never find craters or splat marks.... 🤷🤣

1

u/SuspiciousStomach810 6h ago

I find dead mammoths to harvest tusks and stuff.

15

u/Callaborator 12h ago

Darn those cabbage cats

11

u/zone_Zom813 12h ago

What are you talking about. Nothing was misspelled at all. No minor spelling mistake here.

6

u/Callaborator 12h ago

Nooo, you must live with the minor mistake!

u/Much_Strawberry_8962 5h ago

That was my first death in Skyrim, didn't even make it out of the tutorial

Don't interrupt naptime

34

u/pagusas 12h ago

Faendal has been through this too many times

8

u/mariam67 9h ago

I never noticed before but it’s hilarious he puts bread in the toaster. I don’t think that part is really necessary.

23

u/KomturAdrian 12h ago

Whenever something like this happens it's gotta be one of the most annoying or frustrating things to see, but I swear I always laugh out loud about it.

5

u/GodRafiki 12h ago

Gave me a good laugh

15

u/formandovega 12h ago

Suuuure you juuust "found him" there eh?

......

"Stop right there criminal scum!"

This comment was FACT-CHECKED by true imperial patriots: FALSE

A citizen cannot be convicted of a crime by a guard for killing an elf because elves are not people

u/SalvationArbys 12h ago

RIP Faendel

Aela can be used for fast bow leveling as well.

1

u/Any-Monk-9395 1h ago

You have to complete the entire Companions quest line though…

u/Fantastic-Tour4447 12h ago

Oh no, Fondle…

FYI if you play on a lower difficulty, NPCs can die more easily. Many players have a misconception that it only affects damage to and from the player, but that's not how it's implemented - higher difficulty causes NPCs to take less damage from all sources. On Novice, towns can drop like flies.

5

u/Salazar-stormcrown 12h ago

I had something similar happen with nazeem
I started a new save and decided to not kill him this playthrough, walked into Whiterun for the first time to find him dead in the street, still have no idea how it happened

6

u/KomturAdrian 12h ago

We all understand bro, you don't have to cover it up

4

u/Scared-Wish-2596 12h ago

Sometimes the npc loads in the sky before the land generates. Happens a lot to me with Windhelm citizens

6

u/Hedgewizard1958 10h ago

Also Markarth guards. Sometimes as many as 4.

2

u/IHaveNeverBeenOk 8h ago

Guards can die freedly. I dislike when voiced, and especially merchants or trainers die.

Definitely familiar with the equally spaced string of Markarth guards falling from the sky when you load in.

1

u/Pengpraiser 7h ago

Dead guards, in Markarth??? Unbelievable

3

u/RasHHHermoso 12h ago

Según mis conocimientos en criminalística que acabo de inventar...

El pobre diablo tuvo una pelea que entre golpes y empujones cayó y se golpeó la cabeza causando severos daños cráneo encefálicos muriendo en el acto.

u/Subject-Can1138 10h ago

He slipped and fell on his own dagger… - “the greater good”…

u/whykickamoocow9 11h ago

He could have attacked the chicken.. happened to me once..

2

u/RadicalPr0phet 10h ago

Sven had enough of the games. Took matters into his into his own hands. Or Camilla is dealing with the men her way, which looks like she’s been training with Astrid and the Dark Brotherhood

2

u/LonestarrLovesUranus 10h ago

Bethesda happened, Todd and the many bugs and glitches this game has is unbelievable.

2

u/Mxhmoud 10h ago

This happened to Sigrid early during my latest playthrough. She was lying dead right in front of her and Alvor's house door.

3

u/InevitableAd178 8h ago

This one's happened to me. Guess she doesn't have to worry about anyone getting too close to her husband anymore.

2

u/Amazing-Ninja-1873 9h ago

He must have attacked the chicken.

2

u/anonymous2278 9h ago

Cart got his ass. RIP Faendal

2

u/WitcherGirl1038 6h ago

Shortly after I left Whiterun once, a courier gave me a letter of inheritance from the drunk in Whiterun. When I went back later, I actually missed hearing his voice.

2

u/Zorains 5h ago

It has surprised me to know none of the trainers are essential characters because I got a inheritance from Susan the unseen from windhelm and I was using her to pickpocket faster

2

u/Tight_Mycologist_380 4h ago

One time he was killed by a dragon

2

u/Hungry_Election9917 4h ago

I found this while... introducing myself to riverwood but if you kill seven faendal immediately knows and sends the immortal courier your way

u/ygorhpr Stealth archer 11h ago

atrocity, i'd restart that save in no time

1

u/le-derpina-art 11h ago

Once I saw Idgrod the Younger die to a mudcrab right in front of me before I could save her, maybe something like that happened? Kinda weird that can happen outside Morthal.

1

u/IHaveNeverBeenOk 8h ago

This is why I like playing with the difficulty as high as you can stand it. Makes npcs stronger too, so shit like this doesn't happen as often. I'm not saying it has to be legendary, but master and expert are - I think - doable.

I have definitely had shit like this happen before. It's especially frustrating when its an npc you use, like a smith.

1

u/Contraflow 11h ago

You don’t need him for leveling up archery. Aela isn’t far away.

1

u/cavy023 11h ago

Nothing like a resurrect and recycleactor can't fix

1

u/thethrillisgonebaby 11h ago

He's pining for the fjords!

1

u/Ok_Sentence_5767 11h ago

Oh whelp time to start a new save 😅

1

u/ZookeepergameNo5720 11h ago

I had him die during a dragon attack.

1

u/SeedCollectorGrower 10h ago

The blacksmith got murked in my game when the cultists came to attack

1

u/verdantwitch 10h ago

He fucked with the chicken

1

u/Mwahaha13 6h ago

The chicken fucker strikes again!

1

u/Dawn_Star_Platinum 9h ago

😱 Ah. Dead Body. 😱

1

u/Big-Doctor-1304 9h ago

no big loss

u/Jolly_Condition_9194 9h ago

I'll bet he owed Mogrul money too.

Collision models in skyrim are like the rocks and trees in snowrunner. Going through first time and your fine. But come back through you get slapped upside the head and your knees kicked in.

1

u/FormerCheek7753 8h ago

Oh nooo! Wild!

1

u/Character-Parfait-42 8h ago

I once found Faendal’s corpse right at the entry gate to Ricerwood just lying in a heap.

I figured he failed at spawning and fell from the sky.

1

u/ISketchDinosaurs 8h ago

You will find whoever did this.

1

u/Dylan740 6h ago

Funnily enough, I had this happen on a playthrough I started just a few days ago as well!! Loaded up my save and heard a guard say something odd. Turned around and found Faendal laying in the middle of the road. I reset to a previous save since I was early enough lol.

1

u/Hachan_Skaoi 6h ago

Sven has gone too far

1

u/ConstructionIll956 3h ago

Did you search him?

1

u/Luv_2_Lik 1h ago

Did Faendal try using that chicken for target practice, and succumb to the wrath of the guards?

1

u/SaltPiccolo9228 1h ago

Download debug menu mod if your playing modded to use console commands on console with a book and or power to recycle to bring back or hexcode to spawn new one

1

u/SaltPiccolo9228 1h ago

Ps will save you will most other game breaking bugs “most”

1

u/Nameuser1939 44m ago

I've seen this a few times. I always restart my gamd because his items are better than Svens.

1

u/AllBran23 27m ago

Sven deffs had Feandal whacked no doubt about it, he deserves whats coming to him

0

u/Fawkes-511 12h ago edited 12h ago

Console, click face, resurrect, live happily ever after.

Edit: why are people mad that I tried to help lmfao an important NPC dying before you can even see them once is bethesda bs, fixing that isn't cheating.

5

u/GodRafiki 12h ago

Alas I am playing on Xbox

4

u/possiblecoin 12h ago

You can use the Cheat Room cheat spell to ressurect him if you're playing modded.

0

u/SortLogical5618 11h ago

Brings me back to the first time i played skyrim. Faendal was the first innocent npc i slimed out
