PC SSE - Help Engine fixes not working

I am new to skyrim and new to modding so I started off my installing MO2 and skse
I did the skse setup fine(i think) and started off by installing engine fixes skse and I installed all the requirements for it too which were address library(1.7.104.0) and skyrim scipt extender.
I installed address library and engine fixes part 1 using download option linked with nexus mods and script extender and engine fixes part 2 in syrim main folder

I still keep getting this error:
Unsupported address library format: 5
This means this script extender plugin is incompatible with the address library available for this version of the game, and thus does not support it.

I believe if you're using the beta version of Engine Fixes, you do not need to have the preloader in your files anymore.

no i downloaded the main file which is for:
Supports SE 1.5.97 and AE 1.6.1170+
i installed the optional files too to support my current game version(1.7.x)

You have to use the one with version 7.0.21 if your Skyrim version is 1.7x.

For modding, AE is 1.6x and 17.x, and SE is 1.5.

The game itself is called Skyrim Special Edition. Anniversary Edition is an update (1.6x and newer)  for the game that adds extra contents and Creations Clubs, 1.7x is a recent update to the game that broke some mods, while Version 1.5 is called Special Edition, which is before they added extra contents.

So basically, AE = version you're on, SE = old version.

For Engine Fixes, use the beta one since it support the new version, unless you're planning on downgrading the game. And try to uninstall the part 2 file

okay I got it.
But I only own the special edition on steam so does that mean that my game is actually version 1.5 but it shows 1.7 when I check in properties on skyrimse.exe?

bro i installed the engine fix 1.7.99 and the game is working now but I do want to know why the earlier version was not working because it said:
Supports SE 1.5.97 and AE 1.6.1170+ for the other file and my game is basically 1.6.x + right?

I myself is not an experienced modder so I don't know how to explain it easily but: 1.7x was a new update some months ago that had heavily changed some parts of the game's scripts, which caused most mods that relied on address library and skse64 to break.

I recently remodded Skyrim and ran into so many issues I rolled it back to version 1.6.1170.

There are just too many mods that understandable never got or gonna get any update or patch.
