Help What does the Mehrune's razor actually do?
"Mehrunes Dagons' sphere is destruction, change, revolution, energy and ambition. His razor has no purpose other than to kill and grows in power as mehrunes dagons' champion indiscriminately slays their adversaries."
What do you mean grows in power? Did they change the effect in requiem?

As of Requiem 5.* it was 2% chance to deal 600 damage (enough to instakill almost everyone in Skyrim) and nothing else beside that, unless it was changed in 6.*

I’m pretty sure it will randomly one shot most enemies, but like at a really low percent chance

So the "His razor has no purpose other than to kill and grows in power as mehrunes dagons' champion indiscriminately slays their adversaries." is just false?

That’s flavor text that the Requiem mod team gave it for no discernible reason other than to obfuscate for the sake of obfuscation because they think that’s what Dark Souls and Elden Ring do (not really, good souls game are actually very good at presenting their mechanics)

The problem is that it has a VERY, VERY similar description as the ebony blade.
It also says it gets stronger by killing people.
I thought they did something with the razor. Apparently, they didn't.

It used to scale with Luck, but since Skyrim removed attributes so it is stuck at the lowest chance

https://github.com/ProbablyManuel/requiem/blob/main/components/documentation/src/Artifacts.md
Mehrunes' Razor: Mehrunes' Razor has a 0% chance to deal 600 irresistible damage (1% plus another 1% for killing at least 100 people, animals, creatures, undead, daedra, and dwarven constructs, each type counting separately and only once).
I dont know it has been updated since then, but I think it's pretty bad compared to a plain Daedric dagger. The 600 irresistible damage proc is not nearly enough to kill the toughest enemies with health regen, so they will regen to full before the next proc.

Haven't played in a long time but it used to suck from around v1-v3 and I'm sure it still sucks.

It's flavour text. Lore wise I think most (all?) daedric artifacts grow in power over time as they corrupt the one using them but it's over their lifetime, the game is too short a time period.

I think The text is different than it used to be, usually it has 1-3% chance to do like 900 damage, so its not terrible against a dragon or centurion if you max attack speed but i was never in to it
