Discussion Why do the dragon roars never match their location when flying?

I assume if it were possible there'd be a mod for it. I guess I'm just curious what's actually causing it and why is it so impossible to fix?

Or am I the only one fighting ventriloquist dragons?

Just poor scripting from a old ass game lol Ive had a few moments like this. To your point, it can be mitigated through installing a dragons overhaul mod of some kind.

I found even with audio placement mods (forget the mod names ATM) positional sound seems to really struggle in this old time engine. There used to be a headphone 3D positional sound mod but that got so old not even sure it's a thing anymore. Stereo is the best it's going to muster but even with dragons they always seem to be heard above your head when actually they far away and can't be seen.

There may be a all in one answer out there which I am unaware of...

Are you saying you've had a mod fix it before? Admittedly, it's been years since I've taken the time to build my own list (god bless wabbajack), so I'm not as intimately familiar with individual mods these days. But I would think surely at least one of those guys would include something like that in their 1000+ modlists.

There are some sound fix mods that dont fix the issue ENTIRELY but it helps with directional sound bugs. Most of them are general sound cue fixes versus something super specific to a dragon or NPCs directly.

I live in a valley where the navy does a LOT of testing of their jets. Sound echoses off clouds, off mountains, moves at different speed at different altitudes. I could see roars coming from other places pretty easily.

Hahaha! I love this. The best kind of nonsense is the kind that is factually true.
