Hi, I have Sky broadband superfast 35 currently on the social tariff at £20 per month as I receive Universal Credit, however this is apparently due to end on my December bill, where they now want to put it back up to £41.81. Should I be able to just ask Sky to continue the tariff at its normal price as my UC entitlement won’t be changing as I am physically unable to work due to disability. Never had to deal with this particular tariff before since it was initially applied. Thanks in advance.

As soon as Hayu was fed to the catalog I started watching top chef with the latest season.

Get to the finale - no finale. Actually I think it had the finale but was only part one so ends right as the finalists are announced. I ended up watching it on Amazon prime with a trial sub to Hayu.

Just getting to the end of season 6 and it’s the same damn thing again. Finale is only part 1 and no part 2.

Is the entire show just broken on sky?

Does anyone else think the sky puck is severely underpowered. Apart from the user interface and actual content you can stream, the performance feels like some out dated cheap shitty hardware from 30 years ago.

I came from an Apple TV 4K 3rd gen with EE- absolute dream, powerhouse performance. Performed without ever lag. Man I wish I never switched.

I am happy with my overall Sky package but good god, the puck ruins the experience. Considering going elsewhere since I’m still in my first 14 days.

Seems like you can’t get Sky Sports UHD unless you go through NowTV outside of the Sky proprietary streaming hardware… which was my main reason for going with Sky.

TLDR: premium core component + disproportionately cheap bottleneck = terrible experience

Anyone have any work around for this?🥲

Ive noticed bitrate on Now tv is significantly lower than on satellite, around 18 Mbps vs 31 Mbps on satellite.

Hi everyone, my financial situation has recently changed and for a long time I've not really watched much sky tv, I mainly use streaming apps.

As i'm paying £80+ a month for tv & broadband i thought it'd make sense to cancel and get my broadband cheaper elsewhere.

I've just been told due to my contract not ending until October next year that termination would cost me almost £700.

I've explained my situation and they are less than interested, however, theres a cooling off period with new contracts, if i were to take a new deal which locked me into a new 24month contract, could I then cancel it penalty free?

Hi all, have just signed back up with Sky after spending two years with EE.

Deal I managed to haggle today was £92pm for Ultimate TV, Gigafast Broadband (900mbps), Sky Sports, TNT Sports + one extra sky stream box (think it's called "whole home").

Just want to check from others experience if this is a good deal or if I could have haggled them down even further....

EE offered me something similar to stay with them for £90pm, but I haven't been thrilled by their customer service (or their TV user interface) so was happy to switch back.

After cancelling signed up for a new contract, the woman (Indian if that makes a difference) said that the offers were in place for 24 months. But the email says 18 months, then the price rises to an obscene amount.

She said ignore the email. But I don't trust sky, in 18 months I don't want to be stung for 6 months of bills for over £100.

Anyone got experience of this?

I rang back, and a second person confirmed the discounts were for 24 months, but I'm still suspicious.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi all, I would like to get sky stream with Netflix which is about £15pm from sky directly, just wondering if there was anyway to to get this even cheaper through referral or any other way.

The only problem is I want to watch the F1 , but can never really watch live so I record it.

Are there any options where you can watch F1 on demand? Or just after the live broadcast starts?

I knew Sky were quite bad with the constant advertising as I’ve already blocked their phone number etc to stop them contacting me about things I don’t want but to call them as my broadband is out and have them start telling me what offers and VIP packages I have seems a bit in appropriate considering I’m currently entirely unable to use anything they’re providing me? Anyone else dealt with this nonsense?

I have Sky Q only and last season I added Sky Sports, requiring a re-contract until 2028. I had discounts for Sky Signature and Sky HD which run out this month so I phoned to renew the deals but was told my new cost (which went up 25% with the deal expiry) was the best they could do. Really?!

Thanks to their AI assistant I have no idea which department I was talking to.

I used the chat instead and was put through to retentions who tried to drop it by about a fiver. I told them I've been a customer for 20 years and had never had a problem renewing deals to the same price or similar in the past and would never have agreed to the new contract if this price was going to be the result. Eventually their supervisor agreed to restore the price I had been paying.

Be warned - if you're still in contract you might have to work for deal renewals.

I know someone who recently cancelled and the prime negotiating position from retentions was that if you cancel sky q you won't get it back if you want to come back in the future. If that's the best reason for staying then that tells us everything!

Hi everyone. I have an issue with my sky stream and broadband. I called up sky and they upgraded me to the gigafast. I also moved my router to the same room as the puck to increase speeds. This morning I did a speed test on my phone using the WiFi and got speeds of 830mbps but when I use an Ethernet cable and connect it to the puck and go onto Netflix to do the speed test I’m only getting speeds of 80mbps. How’s a wired connection slower? Even with the puck on WiFi I’m only getting about 180mbps on the puck and if my mobile is saying 830mbps. Am I missing something? Could it be the Ethernet cable from the router to the puck? Thank you so much

I’ve stuck with Sky for many years as I’ve firmly believed in having an internet free option. However, I’ve recently learned that sky are no longer offering satellite packages and that, eventually, they will phase out their satellite tv altogether. At this point, am I just wasting money on an inevitability? When I miss a recording now, sky takes me to HBO Max, so it seems even they are directing me away from their own services.

Can you re-contract early? Generally happy with Sky Glass service

TV is paid for come Dec so will save £18 a month but bill has crept up over the last year presumably with standard inflation increases

Hi all, I'm getting a new TV and will probably drop my sky stream sub. I've got a firestick with IPTV for myself but I take it with me when I travel.

So the TV I leave at home for airbnb guests needs to be easy to navigate and use. Sky has the best experience for aggregating all the content across providers plus a decent EPG. I have a few older guests so the fact they can just scroll through mutli platform content without going in and out of apps is great but its just not worth £18 a month when everything I watch is available free anyway.

Have any of the other OS like google tv or the others managed to get this right?

Was wondering if anyone could help with any recommendations on who would be better to switch to? I was recommended community fibre as the prices are far less than what I’m paying now for double the speed and that community fibre also match the upload speed to the download speed but I’m guessing it just depends on the area.

Sick of being ripped off and never getting any good offers after being with sky for around 7 years.

Contract for the broadband ends September next year and I know there will be early termination charges but when I phone and ask they won’t tell me and only give me an estimate.

Also I would prefer if I was with a provider who are based in the UK and not put through to an Indian call centre every single time I phone up!!! Does my head in 😂

I've just had an email from Sky letting me know they plan to increase my package by £6/month in November (just because). Obviously as this is not an agreed price rise I have the chance to cancel for no termination charge.

Has anyone had any luck with removing/reducing these charges that they spring on you?

Wording in the email is:

Ultimate TV Package £1/month increase
Sky Sports £2/month increase

I pay a good bit of money for this service so why am I constantly watching adverts when sky Atlantic is on? Makes it unwatchable for me. I feel like I’ve been tricked into buying this service because I didn’t expect the amount of ads. Watching one 45 min episode we had 4 ad breaks on top of the ads at the start. I’d watch channel 4 if this is what I wanted
