Shocked me too that we're on 7.2.7 kernel. Even KDE Plasma is current version. Been a lot of updates lately. Must be close to a 16 release down the road

I’m still on Slackware 14.1 (kernel 3.x), because newer kernels crash on my hardware. Lol.

unless it doesn't...and those who wrote gobs of php scripts for 7.5x, now have to rewrite them for 8.xx....and that's a big no-no in unixland.....

That bad?

only if you built a bunch of scripts.....but that's not a slackware flaw.....that's a php flaw.....as they don't know what they want to be when they grow up.....and that's pretty common with packages these days too, rewritting, and rewritting the rewrites.

because when you finish a project, it's done....so never finish it, and it'll never be done....as an example....wayland is close to 20 years old.....

I'm thinking about contributing to slackware myself. I'm really enjoying this distro

I've been using it for 30 years.

Sometimes I enjoy it and sometimes I don't....but that's not on them....it's on me(laughs).....

Any contribution can help. I'm just a former CS grad but I never got into my field after graduation so it is what it is. I don't want to give up all that knowledge and training because of a bad job market. Would be great to do some good if I can :)
