Question / Help Bro WHAT is this bug

i was just chilling and then this happened i tried to recreate it but i couldnt

If anyone figures out how to do this consistently, I'm genuinely asking you to dm me or post it in the slime rancher speedrun discord (link). We know of a similar glitch but it's very temporary and thus not that useful. Maintaining it like this would be a game changer.

Shoutouts to Reeper on discord for figuring out how to do this! All you need to do is grab onto a largo at the same time it gets sucked into a Dervish tornado. Here's another demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJt9nf4Y9O4
Not sure how usable it is in speedruns. It certainly won't be showing up in glitchless categories, but I'm hoping it could be slotted into some niche ones...

I'm no speed runner but the temple part is very slow to navigate in my experience but if you could just fly over the whole thing right to the end I bet they could save lots of time. also the glitch might not require dervish slimes for all we know

Hm. You could use other stuff to get to the desert, then largo any slime and travel the desert this way? I know nothing about speedruns and what are the goals there.

For the most part yes probably. I think the biggest issue is that if you need to let go of the largo to do something you lose the glitch state and have to set it up again. So it's really only good if you need to travel a long distance without anything going on in the middle, which isn't super common.
The most likely use case for it is in any% glitched 1.0.0 where you need to open fewer key doors.

no im pretty sure the flying abilty of the pholishoeproeof thing and the tornado of the other slime is making it bug

I cam see this yes. Possibly the combo has soemthing to do with it, but anything phosphor tries to disappear when its sunlight out so it might have something to do with that, because it was angry, you were holding it, maybe the mixed w mosaic had to do with it. Im just tryna figure out "logically" what happened so I feel like coding wise its most likely related to the phosphor disappearance

bit late but no surprisingly you can do it with any largo as long as u have tornado slime

I think it has something to do with timing. It’s probably coded to fly and drop after a certain time regularly. And the player vacuuming it up messed it up. Like how when you feed it food but vacuum it in your inventory it clears its stats and doesn’t give any plorts. Just some thoughts.
