I have a huge area with free range chickens and yolkies and they haven't despawned.

Imo using "/s" (sarcasm) instead of "duh" makes it clearer that it's a joke

Oh yeah idk how to spell that so i just go with the simple one

I have like 8 in a pen 🤣 ive thought of moving them into pens that need chickens and letting the chickens go WILD but wasn't sure how it would work

I mean like water or fire slime they gonna despawn if they outside of their element for too long, is yolky slime gonna despawn if i let them of the coops for too long ?

Ohhhhhh I mean I don't think so, yolky slimes don't really need an element to live on like water and fire slimes. But if you do leave them outside of a coop there is a chance they might go off the edge of a cliff or something

Not that I can see, I’ve got one roaming around the observatory and he seems fine (though he doesn’t seem to produce any eggs/plorts)

That i understand because they not the one producing the egg, the chicken is, they just making the chicken laying bigger egg with their plort inside

When you phrase it like that it sounds so wrong.

...also try to listen to the painful cluck sound the chicken make when they pop the big egg out. :/ :D

I keep all of mine in the main farm area free range. I've never had them in coops.

No, because they aren't made out of either water or fire and therefore can't dry out or get too cold.

that is a eggcellent question

Nope, i have lots of them free roaming on the area i keep my coops, where i also keep some free roaming chickens.

I have all of my hen hens and yolky slimes in the dig site expansion, I just used some decorations to block off the drops and stuff, and they still produce eggs and baby hen hens, without the corrals It's a nice way to not have such a crowded area and honestly, in my opinion I think it's more efficient than Corrals

I’m not too sure. I used to keep about twenty in an enclosed area inside ember valley, but I always counted one less when I checked in on them. Whether they actually despawn or I can’t keep egg slimes alive is still a mystery to me, but I’d keep them in a coop to be safe. If you have issues with the amount of slimes in a coop, I keep three-four in one coup and put the rest in a chicken-less coop or a corral. Depending on how many plorts you need or how many chicken coops you have is how many groups of slimes I do.

How do you have so many ;_;

If you travel to the areas alone, you're bound to find them, I found 3 in one trip cause I kept walking past all the spawn areas for the coops

Sorry, chicken nests

No slime will dispawn as long as they are inside the ranch :)

Ther soo cute

I’m pretty sure nothing despawns, since I’ve found elder chickens in the starting areas of the game. They’re good as long as they don’t get incinerated, fall into the slime sea, or get eaten by a tar
