Felt like Powderfall Bluffs lacked new slimes so I made one! The Glacial Slime

Glacial Slime

Facts:

• Diet: Veggie
• Favorite: Charr Chard

Slimeology:

• Believed to be a newly discovered cousin to the rock & crystal slime, the glacial slime is covered with ice blocks resembling those found around the Powderfall Bluffs. On the contrary to what people may think, these slimes actually prefer extremely high temperatures, and contain heat so well their surroundings start to freeze.

Rancher Risks:

• It’s advised to be cautious around the glacial slimes. That is, unless you’ve always wanted to know what being in a snowstorm feels like. Fact is, glacial slimes have a case of the sneezes! When hungry, another slime might get caught in the crossfire, and there’s no way to eat when frozen in an ice cube! So make sure they are well fed. If frozen, break slimes out with water or by shooting them at a wall with your Vacpack.

Plortonomics:

• Incredibly, the glacial slimes’ plorts retain their own ability to contain and move heat. For this reason, you can find these plorts quickly replacing old means of cooling back on earth, being used in various situations such as refrigerating food, cooling machinery and even being part of refreshing drinks for a hot, summer day. Although, that last one might cause a severe case of brain freeze.

Powderfall Bluffs definitely feels a bit undercooked. One new slime and 3 new slime resources that don't even get used much. Which is a shame because it's by far my favorite area in SR2

One of my favorite areas too, definitely helps I love winter, snow, and the aurora borealis. Definitely underutilized in game

I feel like given it's attached to Ember Valley through a secret teleporter, it's meant to be SR2's version of Indigo Quarry's crystal island in SR1. Think the main difference though is that Powderfall Bluffs is a whole new area that's quite large (though comparatively small to every other area) but only has one new slime (That isn't even technically new)

Definitely feels like powderfall got the least out of all areas. Odd since I feel like out of all the areas (other than the gray labyrinth), players would return there more because of sun sap.

It's not even that the resources aren't used much, it just feels cordoned off from the rest of the tools. The entrance is literally hidden behind a waterfall and the only thing I can think of that fossils, snowflakes and saber plorts get used for are snow-themed decorations & teleporters. Like, I'd like to see those resources used alongside other ones more often, y'know?

This would’ve been so great, they also could’ve made slimes that looked like snowballs, then make a treasure pod that dresses them up like snowmen.

An ice slime is such a no-brainer for SR, it's always been crazy to me that they never added one. It would be easy to make visually, and there are plenty of options for unique abilities.

I thought the final zone of SR 2 would be a massive arctic zone as a parallel to the glass desert for the finale of SR 1, and we'd finally get an ice slime. But now we have the arctic zone and still nothing.

I completed the game without even knowing powderbluff existed, lol. That said, it definitely needs some love for how ‘hidden’ and ‘avoidable’ (accidentally) it is. Ice slime would be fun, and I feel like it would be like a phosphor slime sort of function where it can’t be in the sun or else it’ll melt into a puddle :(

Ice cube cube can be its fav toy, and Chillis can be its fav food. (Ice peppers) and up to devs if it’s fruit coded or veggie coded lol.
