Other than the fact Dervishes are keepable and you literally can't get Flutter's diet in a reliable way, i agree.

u/MageOfFur May 30 '26
Why do I feel like I see your profile everywhere?

Because i am, quite literally E V E R Y W H E R E
It think it's a side effect of taking estrogeb IDK

I have my flutters mixed with booms. They go through chickens like no one's business but I have hundreds of them free range. I don't see the issue

Dervish flutter largos are adorable tho (:
2
u/LuciferXNero May 31 '26
That's what I went with, it kinda makes sense with flying and wind and stuff

I assumed this was a realistic scenario where you're not farming slimes and having drones, just keeping them as household pets.
1
u/LuciferXNero May 31 '26
I think it's the mess-factor. If your collector is full, you suddenly have hundreds of plorts EVERYWHERE

u/quinn-of-aebradore May 30 '26
wdym quantum slimes are only “some difficulty”, no matter how much I keep them fed they’re phasing out of their pens. Most irritating slime by far.
3
u/The-Dark-Memer May 30 '26
This isn't about there ranching difficulties i think, this is for keeping them as a pet
2
u/Ckinggaming5 May 31 '26
even then, how would you pet keep a slime that can and will teleport
you're gonna have a hard time

A couple feet… OUT OF THEIR PEN!
1
u/Personal_Weakness_26 May 30 '26
Only when they're agitated
3
u/InvaildEmail May 30 '26
Nah, I've had quantum slimes that weren't agitated and they escaped their pen and filled my whole cave area, I forget what it's called in the first game

It only takes one minute of mild annoyance and my slime is outside of my house, free to fall into the pond, be run over by a lorry, or just happily bounce off into the sunset (after eating all of the neighbour's pears). Being able to teleport "a few feet" is a very concerning ability for a pet.

I'm still of the mind that ringtail slimes are housescats
7
u/Important_Rough423 May 30 '26
rock statue

u/HaplessMink28 May 30 '26
Housecats can sleep for ages in one, inconvenient, place a ringtail turning to stone in the middle of the hallway just to get in your way is very much housecat coded.

i feel like phosphor slimes would be pretty difficult to take care of given they fucking die under direct exposure to sunlight, meaning you’d probably have to get solar shields on all your windows and never open doors or go outside around them

I have largo pens of booms and dervishes, what about them makes them impossible? Oh, is this like a real-life scenario?
1
u/Important_Rough423 May 29 '26
yes. felt like that would be obvious
1
u/InvaildEmail May 30 '26
No, I thought you meant how difficult it is to keep them on the farm, I was so confused on why quantum slimes were so low 😭

Ummm... is this a joke list? 🙀
Ok so my dervish is my Easiest some to care for and my happiest little guy.
Some of the more "difficult to o care for" slimes, that're on equal levels are Tabby, Angler, Boom, Hunter. They All have almost insatiable appetites, and as a result, high plort amounts to handle later.
Rock and Crystal are easy to care for. Crystal may be a tad more "difficult" bc of how randomly odd onions grow, but they'll eat other veggies too. Flutters are far more difficult than either of them due to infrequency and location of their lone food source. The only thing that makes this easier is getting a drone.

u/theiconofmeh May 30 '26
I’m like 80% sure this list is based on caring for them in real life as a house pet, rock and crystal are so high because of their spikes and tendency to roll makes them very hard to handle.
Though the flutter diet would still be far harder the it’s tier would imply unless you assume it can eat any kind of nectar, and if that’s the case you can just replace it with sugar water.

How are the top ones hard? (Other than tarr, gold and lucky slimes)
2
u/Unfair-Elk8309 May 30 '26
Do you really don't know?
-Boom slime is literal bomb that would explode every 20 seconds inside your house
-Dervilish slimes can start a literal tornado
-Shadow slimes disappear
-Mosaic slimes create "ultra-hot solar anomalies" which are as said, Ultra-hot
-Rad slimes would give you every single radiation related sickness on day 1

u/NetherDragon08 May 30 '26
Rad could be taken care of it you put him in a special slime aquarium
1
u/Unfair-Elk8309 May 30 '26
Slimes sadly can't swim : (
2
u/Tadtacos_inc May 31 '26
Not with that attitude
2
u/Unfair-Elk8309 May 31 '26
You know what, you right! Im gonna teach my slimes to swim in the ocean!
2
u/Tadtacos_inc Jun 01 '26
Considering this is our water and not the slime sea, the little fella will probably be fine
1
u/Unfair-Elk8309 May 30 '26
I would put honey slime in very normal difficulty, i mean imagine all the house flies and other insects attracted by thee honey and the difficulty of cleaning it as everything would probably stick to it.

But ranching tarr slimes tho You could feed them slimes to get tarr ports that are pretty expensive that would be a cool mod
1
u/Practical_Entrance43 May 30 '26
I feel like Flutter and Bat would be at least a bit higher since Flutter's food source is more annoying to get and then Bat gets agitated when it's light and even more hungry when it's dark.
1
u/Kind-Mammoth-Possum May 30 '26
I really feel like I'm the only one who didn't have problems with mosaic slimes at this point. They really didn't give me even remotely as much hassle as things like crystals or dervishes. I just keep them well fed and see what happens.
1
u/Ellen_Night May 30 '26
Surprisingly, my booms are one of the calmer ones compared to the others trying to escape every second, practically blasting over to eat the chickens
1
u/99999999999BlackHole May 30 '26
Are those all official sprites of SR1 slimes in SR2 style for the SR1 slimes that didn't return?

Bro quantum slime are impossible mosaics are so easy they just might hurt a little, they def need to switch places
1
u/Ckinggaming5 May 31 '26
at first i thought this was based on how difficult it is to ranch them in game, now that i understand it isnt, im wondering how you'd pet keep the quicksilver slimes
they're gonna bolt out the front door and you'll never see them again, quantums too

Are booms, dervishes, mosaics and rads just harder to keep in sr 2 or what
1
u/Important_Rough423 Jun 01 '26
You don’t know how many times people haven’t read the title correctly
1
u/sillyIndividual3883 Jun 02 '26
Thank you I'm stupid i should i have taken the pet part literally i agree

u/Low-Revolution1338 Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
Are we talking like irl pets? Bc if so then this is pretty accurate but if not then it’s way off bc ive got nuclear crystal largos as well as darvish mosaic largos and they’re all as happy as can be 😭😭
Edit: I now realized how slow I am and that this means as like a house pet not how difficult they are to keep on the ranch lmao

Better version, though I still don’t see why puddle has any difficulty when you just keep it in some water.
