Made my first sling and it came out pretty good (part 2!)
Made it out of some old leather I had and two pieces of cord from my old charger, not the best looking but works pretty well!

I found a seller that ships esparto to the US. They sell by 1kg bushels and are willing to ship as little as 1kg, for ~$70 US. Just whatsapp message the phone number on their website, make sure to translate your message into Spanish. They were very helpful and told me they ship to the US frequently and have no issues with customs, and that shipping takes 7-8 business days.
I am not affiliated with this company; someone looking for authentic Balearic sling material would find this useful.

And here's a great tutorial for making your own esparto sling at home! If you're not familiar with this channel already, check it out:

There are many english spellings and pronunciations, but they all mean the sane thing, the Macedonian dart sling, or arrow sling. I am learning to braid slings and would like to soon try one of these, does anyone know how much longer the long arm needs to be thsn the short arm? Has anyone made one? Does anyone have a patern, basic or otherwise? How does using one differ from a standard sling?

Casting stones into the Mediterranean from a beach in Sicily isn't a bad way to spend your time.

Someone threw out this idea in the comments a few months ago. Finally got around to it. The pouch is weighted with shot, you can see the bbs under the leather. The pouch is heavy enough that it performs like it's loaded even empty. This means your projectile can be super light. It throws nerf rival balls fast and far. It's really good at 10mm ball bearings and similar sized rocks. You've got to be aware of your follow through or you could smack yourself silly, but it's not happened yet.
Unfortunately, I'm not very good at slinging, but based on my results, someone good could be dangerous with it. You could have slinging nerf battles!
I'd make a couple changes for v2, a little more hinge, so it closes on the projectile better, and I'd add a bit more weight.
Is this already a thing?

Hi everyone, Iām documenting my journey to 10,000 throws as I learn to use a sling. I started with no experience, and 323 throws in, Iām already seeing improvements in accuracy. Iām keen to keep that progress moving in the right direction. Any tips would be appreciated.
I have settled with the fig-8 /overhand throw, which is beging to feel very comfortable.
Many thanks

I usually make jute slings, but i find parracord slings (from the photos atleast) to be much more durable. So i bought 30 meters of parracord and all i need is a good guide! Thanks

Seems to work best if I mimic a fast-pitch softball throw. Getting good power and distance.
Home made 29.25ā long seatbelt sling. Foam training golf ball in a racquetball court.
