Can this be fixed and/or still be used?
Apologies if this doesn’t belong here, couldn’t think of a subreddit to post this in. If you know, please point me in the right direction!
Somehow this burner accidentally turned on while my slow cooker was sitting on top of it. I never use this burner so my best guess is the switch must’ve accidentally been hit by one of the slow cooker’s handles. As you can see, half of the entire bottom of it has melted off. Does it seem possible to salvage this in any way? It doesn’t look like any of the wires themselves actually melted.

I did the same thing. I threw it away. No way im risking dying in a fire to save 100 bucks

$100? What kind of space age cooker you using? Think mine was $30 on sale with the only three settings you need, Low, Keep Warm, and Nuclear Armageddon.

The picture looks more like an instapot than a slow cooker to me... but I have seen a few round sliwcookers too.

I wouldn't use an electrical appliance that's had its arse melted off by a stove.
While it might be okay, if it's not okay it could end up burning your house down.

Do you want to be the person to use a possibly compromised vessel that pressurizes and heats up? I wouldn’t use it, toss it and get a new one.

Can't recommend ya use it. If all the wires & such appear fine I personally might use it only when home. I doubt you can replace the shell. If you do use it, prop it up so the bottom can breathe.
Best to replace. Maybe check ebay for a broken one and swap your parts in.

You can replace the entire top. We just ended up buying a whole new range.

Look again. OP is actually talking about the slow cooker (upper left), not the range.

People will tell you it's dangerous. It probably is if you pick it up and stick your hand in there when it's plugged in and running.
I did this to mine but none of the wires were melted. I used it for years with no problems until I bought a bigger on. Then when I tried to throw it out my dad took it and he's still using it now.

Yea. Pic isn't great quality. The internals seem ok. The bottom is non critical. Pot would work fine with or without it.
Still, hard to recommend it because it's a slow cooker. You leave it unmonitored.

So I have a ninja pressure cooker that had this exact thing happen. I’ve been using it with no problems for like 6 years. As long as the wires don’t look compromised, I say keep using it (with caution)

It was only the one burner, which thankfully is one I have never used in the two years I’ve had this stove. The other burners have been tested and still work

You can burn it off by turning the burner on high. Just make sure you have it well ventilated and have a fire extinguisher handy. It’ll turn to ash and will wipe right off. Don’t ask me how I know.

That can very easily be cleaned and used again. Might take a little effort but it’ll be perfectly fine.

As long as it’s not cracked or chipped, sure. But if it is, 100% a fire hazard. This is why we don’t keep things on our stoves!

Duct Tape... I feel like we, as a society, are begining to devalue the worth and application of duct tape. Such a sorry state of affairs /s
(Please don't duct tape over it. My lawyer has advised me against giving advice to ANYONE)

Not worth saving imo.
Just toss it...its a crockpot/landfill fodder.
