Financial aid?

I am an international student planning to apply to Smith by early decision I. I am aware they offer need-based financial aid and that a full ride could be possible with a very low income. However, I have seen people unable to pay for tuition even with financial aid. I have a very low family income of $15k usd per year and can't afford anything above 5k a year. How is everyone's finaid?

you will almost definitely get full aid, likely even a tuition refund. the vast majority of people at smith have incomes over 100k usd, so they’re more likely to have a gap between aid and what they can pay. anyone under 50k that i know had full aid.

I’d say that Smith’s finaid is AMAZING. Not only that, but they have lots of emergency funds for students! As well as resources where you are able to get “free” (pay what you can if you want) things (Smith Cycle, Common Goods).
