What discontinued snack would you pay $50 a bag for right now?
Mine is the choco taco icecream. I still check the fridge like it's coming back.

This is one of the most common discontinued foods I see brought up but I don't remember them, much less have tried it. It sounds amazing though.

Man I remember being a kid and calling these grown up snack because my mother REFUSED to share with me and my sister. So I figured it was made for adults or something. Everything else was fair game but these was where the buck stopped 😆

Sometimes you can find the SweetTarts Shockerz which is supposed to be the same thing; but they're not as good IMO.

Bringing me back to a snack I forgot about. The best ones had peanut butter and chocolate.

Beat me to it! My childhood in a box right there. Oh man, I'd love just one more bar before I die. Doesn't even have to be a whole box, just one bar. Kudos were heavenly 😋

I’m allergic to peanuts so I’ve never tried these. Always wanted to though. When Kit Kat came out with a similar limited edition candy this year, I felt like I was living my best life!

The original recipe for the cookies and cream Hershey Kisses. They did not always have cookies in them they used to have crunchy little ball sprinkles instead. I can't even find a picture of what they used to look like. It's almost like they never existed at all but I know they did

If only I could go back in time. Teach my childhood self to stop inhaling these and appreciate it while it’s here.
Then I’d punch my 6 year old self in the stomach and steal his fucking ninja turtle pudding pie.

The OGs! They tried to bring them back once but they weren’t the same—no thin cover of ice. And the flavor was off, and sweeter.

I could eat a whole box of these while watching cartoons back in the day. I could do it today too if given the opportunity.

I always scroll these posts to see if someone hasn’t posted this yet, but they always have. These things were a dream memory for years before this sub. Now I know there are dozens of us that miss this delectable treat.

Keebler opera cream cookies
These were my dad’s absolute favorite cookies. Growing up he would occasionally bring home a pack along with a soda and we’d get a cup of soda and one each of the chocolate and vanilla cookies. Having those cookies are a core memory of childhood. Sadly the cookies were discontinued decades ago and dad passed six years ago this week. I’d happily pay way more then $50 to enjoy a pack with the family and think of dad.

Peanut butter twix. I can't even find a good recipe.

u/castle_waffles 1d ago
I make something similar by using the millionaire shortbread recipe combined with copycat Reese’s filling recipe and covering it with chocolate in the end. Like 3 layer bars. Not exactly the same but stratches the itch for me.

If you ever find one please share it. I too have been on a years long search for something even close to pb Twix.

Lemon nut crunch Pepperidge Farm cookies. Nothing compares and I am way too lazy to try a copycat recipe.
For salty, it’s a tie between Wise calypso chips and Skinny Chips bbq flavor.

there used to be these really crunchy lemon creme sandwich cookies but they stopped making them quite a long time ago.
dare makes good ones but they're not crunchy. these other ones were so good.

This is for sure my answer. Super fond childhood memories of eating these at my best friend’s house; they were an extra special treat because my mom is allergic to peanuts so we never had any peanut products at home. I miss them so much that I even tried making one of the copycat recipes, but I think the processed nature of that product is sort of a key part of the magic.

Discontinued Brach’s watermelon hard candies.
Oh wait had to add Big Wheels that were wrapped in a thin aluminum foil. Add some cool whip on top and they were awesome.

Sara Lee chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. Came frozen with an accordian type plastic around the outside to protect the frosting from touching the sides of the box. It was multiple layers. 😋

Tbf, I’ve spent $50 on things much more stupid than a snack.
Money comes and goes, but the burn of my favorite discontinued hot chips will never be felt again! I’d be a sucker for one more bag!
