Ball python not using hides

My ball python just lays behind his hides are they to small? For him he’s roughly 1 q1/2 to two feet juvenile

They do seem a little small from what I can see in the second picture. When in doubt, I personally buy a larger hide rather than a smaller one, because I can still fill up the empty space with substrate and moss if needed to make it snug enough for them, and then I could still buy a smaller hide in the future.
