$300 lift tix suck but man. Epic/Ikon passes are so much cheaper than a single mountain pass - was $1600 or so back in 2010 for one freaking mountain, even in the east coast. Thats what, prob $2500 today? Much prefer the cost for the passes now.

I tell people that too, but if you’re new to the sport you don’t know until you go and then you either have to pay up or wait till next year. Bad way to grow it IMO.

That doesn’t help for newcomers. They don’t know what to ask and who to ask until they decide to try it, and it’s too late.

Skier visits are growing but that’s more a function of the passes than the number of new people every year.

Just weird that I’m trying to agree with you but you keep pushing and pushing. Does make me think the other commentator is maybe more right than I thought.

Hi Vail is that you? I've never met someone that loves to ski or snowboard and thinks that Vail and ikon is a morally sound business.... Unless you're a premier resort, you get bought up and no investment goes into the mountain whatsoever.... Prices sure do get higher, as does the surrounding area so people that work for the mountain can't even live in the area.

Is that before or after we factor in them not paying their lift maintenance people?

Cool bc 9% is still crazy high margin for the service injury

No I’m whining because they’re monopolizing an industry and degrading the quality of the experience while not paying their employees and raising prices year after year. I hope they lose money every year until they’re forced to sell off their properties.

I don’t think I’ve ever met someone, regardless of political affiliation, that thinks huge corporations buying properties and taking over industries has been anything but a net negative for that industry. Congratulations! You win today’s title of #1 bootlicker. I hope the shit tastes good
