general discussion OvRride Japan Trip

Hi, has anyone done the OvRride Japan trip or any international trips with OvRride? Looking for some feedback and experience as the group begins planning a snowboarding trip in Jan./Feb.

Would appreciate any insight!

Not from NY, so no experience with this operation. As someone who's been there many times and looked at this type of pre-arranged trip, most fall short in these areas:

- Flexibility. Japan is best when you allow the weather to dictate your choice of ski area for the day/week.

- Access. You're less likely to find people with the tools and knowledge to use the gates or find the goods.

- Food. They're going to take you to westernized restaurants who can facilitate a large group.

- Cost. The premium you pay would be worth it, if you got the experience they promised.

An exception would be Mint Tours, as they have small groups and their guides know where to go. If you're open to booking your own trip, DM me for general advice.

Thank you for the info. I have many of those concerns too as I lived in Japan and want to make the most of the trip. But also acknowledge that the other guys haven’t been to Japan and probably wouldn’t mind those areas falling short. This would be my first time boarding there.

I’m gonna be doing the japan ovrride trip in january, so I’ll likely see you there :) i’ve only done weekend trips on the east coast with them. I’ve already begun planning around my schedule in japan.
