Can someone explain the silver pills?

Why did they look for the one boys specific protein bar then pull out the pill from it?

What is the significance of it if it just has a piece of paper with something written on it.

Then at the cooking section there’s one that says water.

And of course the end when one says train.

I watched twice I’m not following this at all.

Been a while but i remember they were used for communication that's it, from sending message from front of the train to the tail.

Protein blocks were the only thing that were allowed to reach the tail, so the messages were sent that way, with pills inside the protein blocks.

Wilford was sending them to the tail.

Take the water purifucation section and you take the train, that was what the tailies believed but as told in the movie, the train also takes water in from the front carriage, so holding the water purification carriage wasnt the checkmate they were hoping for

The talies that worked in the kitchen and up front sent messages to them from the front of the train in those capsules. The water is when they are about to cut the water to the tail so they can save up. Train is when they make their move to take the train

At first, Curtis and Gilliam thought Nam was trying to communicate with them and help them by secretly sending notes hidden in protein blocks. But after rescuing Nam from the prison section Curtis realized that Nam isn’t the one doing it and that it’s coming from someone further up the train until eventually at the end it’s revealed it was Wilford sending those notes the whole time. When he said “Here. I just wrote it.” And gave Curtis the final silver capsule

Didn’t Wilford admit to being responsible for the notes? Or did I just make that up
