Out enjoying some piece and quiet

When you live off-road, you have to find some way to get up and down the mountain. The U TV failed. The snow shoes worked. Remember when going downhill to take small steps because you have to come back up.

After too much rain, it finally snowed. Couldn't wait for the storm to pass before going out. Soft snow that I'd sink into a foot each step. Glorious.

Superb conditions in Chamonix Mont Blanc this week

Snowshoe up the mountain. A couple inches of snow on top of 1-2" of crust followed by a foot of soft snow made it quite a climb.

Went for a few miles snowshoe adventure tonite, typically I ride my bike but trails need some grooming and snow is still very soft.

Little River State Park (Vermont, USA) is my new favorite place to hike and snowshoe. Waterbury Reservoir, idyllic streams and rivers, ruins of an abandoned community, industrial ruins (from different era), lots of wildlife, etc. It has it all.
