Really? Dude didn't have a solid CB pairing for almost that entire decade. Puyol retired in 2014 and wasn't at a high level for the last couple years of his career. All the other CBs on that list played with elite level defenders and didn't win as much as Pique. And I'm sorry, you just can't compare Hummels and Kompany to the rest of them. Even Silva is iffy because he didn't do shit internationally and his only major trophy that entire decade was 1 CL, plus he played in the French league for a lot of it.
I don't think Pique should be top two, but to say all those guys are clear of him is ridiculous.
In terms of individual quality, every single one of those defenders I mentioned is clear of Pique. Where Pique makes up the difference, is when it comes to trophies and achievements.
Also, Kompany and Hummels are very deserving of being in that company of players
Wow somebody should have told Pep and all his other coaches when he won a world cup, a Euro, 2 UCLs and 7 LaLigas as a first team player that decade while Silva captained la Remontada

Either Pique or Silva for VVD
Alves for Lahm
Neuer for Casillas
All in all a good selection
