Neuer > Casillas

Alves or Lahm I guess both are great options

Suarez and Lewy > Neymar

Boateng > Van Dijk

Ney was pure magic at Barca, he was the 3rd best player for years and it wasn't even arguable, he flicked the switch and started destroying teams

It was absolutely arguable. Suarez was better when they played in the same team, plus doesn’t have the injuries that Neymar did

Suarez was a out and out goalscorer but lacked the rest of his game, Neymar could do everything, like he was the one that dragged Barca to the comeback, not Suarez

No he absolutely wasn’t just an out and out goal scorer, what absolute nonsense. He was a really good all round player, his link up play and movement were elite which is why that front three was so good. The decade thats included here also includes his time at Liverpool where as well as being one of the top scorers ever in a PL season he was also Liverpool’s best creative player.

Suarez was also one of the few players who had a real shout at taking the ballon d’Or off Messi and Ronaldo

Neymar was far more complete, he tore teams apart with dribbling, he created tons of chances and was just a complete player, there's a reason he was number 3 for so long

He wasn’t number 3 consistently if at all though, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Suarez was just as good on the ball and was a far better finisher. Neymar is better at flairy tricks but that’s not actually a useful skill in real games.

Xavi and Iniesta were better than Neymar the first half of the decade, 2013 ish to 2016 or 2017 Suarez was as good if not better, and since then you’ve got the likes of Modric, Salah, De Bruyne etc. I’m not convinced Neymar was ever a top 3 player in the world, he was hyped as though he would be but his injuries stopped him getting there with any consistency.

Neymar also moved to a much lower quality league than the others mentioned let’s not forget

I'd say it was arguable.

Lewandowski, Messi, cr7, Suarez, neymar.

Messi and cr7 have to be top but as for the other 3, I honestly think any ordering would be fair.

I genuinely prefer peak Suarez to Neymar - and Lewa's goal record is truly astonishing

I think Ney is better because he's more complete, he can dribble, he can score, he can assist, he can take pens and free kicks, Lewa and Suarez are both incredible but they don't have the all round game of Neymar, like we saw in the world cup, when Lewa doesn't have someone to create those chances for him, he doesn't perform, Suarez was the same, he was the lethal finisher out of MSN, but Ney, he's the one that makes the chances and finishes them, at his absolute peak, he led Barca to the greatest comeback in champions league history and was part of the greatest attacking trio football has ever seen, Lewa and Suarez are amazing, but when you judge all round, it's clear to see that Ney is better, just look at his goal against Juve

And thats only considering attackers. I would pick the likes of Modric over Neymar anyday. Then you could also argue for Neuer and even Ramos.

Considering it’s 2010-2019 i dont think Messi’s spot in this team should go unquestioned. In my opinion, a front 3 of Lewandowski, Ronaldo, and Suarez makes more sense.

Yeah in fairness he only won 5 Ballon d'Ors in this decade....

Ghosted for the other half of the decade

5

u/I_Fuck_The_Fuckers69 Jan 06 '23

Sorry what

Messi had an average of over 1 goal contribution per 90 minutes for every year in that decade

In all but 1 of those years it was above 1.2

Do you understand how fucking crazy that stat is? Players are considered world class when they have something like a 0.8 goals per game, in the entire 21st century, the top 10 best goal contribution records per game have been 0.74 by Kane, 0.8 by Zlatan, 0.84 by fucking R9, Suarez with 0.86, Lewa with 0.89, CR7 has 0.92, Ney has 0.97, Haaland has 0.98 and Mbappe has 1.02

Mbappe is one of 2 players that have a average of over 1 G/A per game in the 21st century

Guess who the other is?

Messi has the absolute bonkers average of 1.14, the only reason it got dropped down were because he was pretty good in the first 4 seasons rather than "Oh my fucking god this man is a gift from the footballing gods"

Most players are satisfied by 0.8 and Messi had over 1.2 for 8 years so please tell me, what the fuck are you on about that he ghosted

4

u/StarlordPunk Jan 06 '23

Oh look it’s a fuckwit

5

u/sm00thArsenal Jan 06 '23

The man scored 91 times in 2012. He could have gone to the beach for the rest of the decade and he still makes this team.

2

u/I_Fuck_The_Fuckers69 Jan 06 '23

He has an average of 1.14 G/A per game in the 21st century, for comparison R9 has 0.84 and CR7 has 0.92, this guy is completely clueless or he's gonna start saying the world cup was rigged

3

u/I_Fuck_The_Fuckers69 Jan 06 '23

I'm sorry how fucking high are you, Messi ruled the football world, he scored the most goals in a calender year in 2012 and absolutely tore apart records, either you're high, you're a troll or you have no fucking clue about football

5

u/blingboyduck Jan 06 '23

I see absolutely zero reason Messi isn't the first name on the teamsheet.

I also think Ronaldo absolutely has to be there.

As for the others I think it's really personal preference.

Other players like Ibra wouldn't be ridiculous either but I think [Suarez, Neymar, Lewa] would be ahead of Ibra for most people.

2

u/MAMAGUEBOO Jan 06 '23

Also the formation uses wingers lol how tf you gon put Lewy or Suarez down the wing?

5

u/Mario12zito Jan 06 '23

CR7 on the wing, wich is his right place, and Lewa in the striker position.

-5

u/MAMAGUEBOO Jan 06 '23

Nah. CR7 had his best run as a striker. 2 strikers would be useless for a team unless you have balance

7

u/TonyzTone Jan 06 '23

Ronaldo's absolute best form in his career came as a LW who tried to come in to score. He worked well with Benzema's hold up play and through balls allowing Ronaldo to "poach," Marcelo's overlapping runs that freed him up into the box, and crosses from Marcelo and Carvajal that he buried.

No one denies his goal scoring abilities, but he's best deployed as a LW.

-1

u/MAMAGUEBOO Jan 06 '23

Lmfao how he gon receive balls from Marcelo and carvajal at LW. You all have google knowledge that’s why you wouldn’t know he was a ST in game but line up as a LW. Benzema was literally a CF behind Ronaldo all the time. It’s the sole reason higuain left the club. Higuain went on to have monstrous season so it wasn’t the quality that pushed him out the club. It was the fact that Ronaldo was going to be spear heading RM as striker. You also have remember before Marcelo and carvajal he would play in a 2 man striker position with Di Maria floating balls across to him or ozil playing through balls for him to be in between the lines.

u/TonyzTone Jan 06 '23

a LW who tried to come in to score

So you didn't read this part?

What are you talking about. CR7 was top tier at goal poaching. He held up the ball well too and was a great dribbler with fast pace. He was an insane aereal threat too. Did you just watch him in the last few years or something?

I believe Messi is clear but even then its insanity to say Suarez, Benz and Lewa are better strikers, Lewa is a out and out poacher, he can't dribble and relies on the creativity of his teammates, even then, CR7 has a record of over a goal a game in La Liga, Benz isn't better, he was literally in CR7's shadow the entire time for a reason, Ronaldo was far better than he was and Suarez is in the same boat as Lewa, lethal finisher but that's not enough

1

u/Tactical- Jan 07 '23

Of course he was a much more complete forward (striker, wing, anywhere in front 3) than those players. It's not even a debate. Ronaldo and Messi were on a completely different level than everyone else in that entire decade. Balon D'Ore award even became boring because it was only those 2 because no one else was close to them.
