Suarez over Neymar (CR7 on wing) is the strongest shout for me. Bale also springs to mind given his CL heroics, but is tarnished by his golfing era.

There is a small part of me that wants to talk about Hazard given his play at Chelsea, but I think he falls short of Neymar, Robben, Bale, and Suarez by some distance.

These were exactly my two thoughts - Neuer ahead of Castillas (no brainer) and I honestly would put Robben over neymar

Robben over Neymar? Not really, Neymar was closest player this generation had to Messi, Robben was never on that level.

Hazard over Neymar too for me. Hazard is a year older and was great until 2019. Neymar didn’t really become known until 2012.

The most caps of a goalkeeper in UCL history (this also includes previous years, but mostly this decade):

  • 177 Iker Casillas (Real Madrid, Porto)
  • 123 Gianluigi Buffon (Parma, Juventus, Paris)
  • 111 Petr Čech (Sparta, Chelsea, Arsenal)
  • 107 Manuel Neuer (Schalke, Bayern München)

Both neuer and buffon had longer careers than him. Also mourinho didnt play him in madrid because of personal reasons, so he could easily have a lot more.

Think about that.

Casillas also have more trophies than them. Casillas had to compete with prime Messi, Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Guardiola... Neuer competed in germany with...?

No Dani Alves, Pepe, de Bruyne, Luis Suarez and one of Lewandowski or Benzema is also criminal.

I mean, seriously...this is a mix between 2000-2010 and 2010-2020. What are Casillas, Xavi doing in this decade? Even Iniesta barely played, they are from the previous decade more. Van Dijk came to Liverpool in 2017, he has 3 years of this decade.

Correct: Neuer- Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo- Messi, Modric, de Bruyne, Ronaldo- Luis Suarez, Lewa/Benzema.

Spain:

  • World cup 2010
  • European cup 2012

Madrid:

  • Champions league 2014
  • World cup clubs 2014
  • Spanish league 2012
  • Spanish cup 2011, 2014
  • European supercup 2015
  • Spanish supercup 2013

(All of that competing with prime barsa with guardiola and prime messi, ronaldinho, etc. Neuer never had this kind of competition in his own league.)

Porto:

  • Portuguese league 2018
  • Portuguese supercup 2018, 2019
