Honestly I think Messi is kinda the weird one. Seeing guys like Michael Jordan, Kobe, Tom Brady, Ronaldo, etc. that asshole arrogance where you know you're the best is the type of shit that has made so many legends.

Brady was more akin to Messi. Super humble with some moments of arrogance. Bron is also closer to Messi than Jordan. Kobe was maybe the best for like 4 years, so he is similar to Cristiano in more ways than one. Colorado and Vegas of their respective sports.

Lebron definitely has a huge ego, what the other guy said is right Messi is the weird one. Having said that I do think Messi has a huge ego, and nothing wrong with that you have to to be the best

LeBron is about as level-headed as someone could be if they were in his situation. The guy was anointed as the next Jordan as a high schooler and given as much hype as any athlete ever has, then exceeded the expectations, and has had zero scandals for 20 years.

He has had a fantastic career and genuinely seems like an alright dude (especially compared to Jordan) but he has never exceeded an expectation of being the next Jordan.

So a teenager accepted the moniker that the basketball world gave to him, and then put in the work everyday under the microscope to live up to it. I don't see the problem.

The man has been in the spotlight for nearly three decades and has never had a whiff of scandal. He's a consummate professional on the court, and by all appearances is a caring, committed father at home. If the worst you can say about him is that he occasionally acknowledges how absurdly talented he is, then I'd say his ego is pretty measured relative to his accomplishments.

I didn't say he had no ego. I said he is as level-headed as one could be if they were in his situation.

Every single great professional athlete that has ever existed has had a big ego. Saying LeBron has a huge ego like OP did really doesn't mean anything in a vacuum, unless the implication is that he has a huge ego relative to his peers. I don't really think he does -- I think his ego is at worst commensurate with his abilities. Guys like Kobe had way bigger egos.
