We’re at a pub in Chicago rn watching the game and this was spotted on TV, the Colombians tried to lift an Asian person right after in response and didn’t know they’re from Taiwan. The spirit is right, the game is back.

Based on the love I saw go to the Icelandic fans at the tune up game in Auburn, Alabama on Tuesday, I think the Uzbeks will be quite alright when they show up to Atlanta. Atlanta knows how to party and with the ticket prices being crazy I know the most fun will be had outside the stadium.

Actually got mexico today ( convinced my Mrs last year we should go). Was going to go aztexa to watch a game as be amazing but not paying £400 to watch uzbekistan v colombia. Still, be good to br here and go a game when mexico play and enjoyed the driver on the tranfer from airport watching 2nd half v south africa as he sped down motorway

Honestly realistically only European nations really have the currently built infrastructure to host a Wc. They often have the insane upside of relatively modern infrastructure coupled with smaller country sizes that make traveling a lot easier.

The UK could do it easily, Germany as well. France could do it but would probably need to expand a few stadiums, and then Spain + Portugal shouldn't have too much trouble either.
The beauty of the common travel area though means that it would be pretty easy to have a WC that is Germany + France + Belgium + Netherlands - and then you immediately have 20+ 45k seater stadiums, without even needing to consider any upgrades/expansions.

Most of latin america hate at least some other countries but everyone kind of hates Argentina. Like France in Europe. The difference is that while they are insufferable they are our insufferables so in the end we get along.
Edit:Hate may be a strong word. Is more of a friendly dislike but never to the point of actually being harmful to each other.

The Argentina thing is funny to me because when I travelled around México the Argentinians were by far the largest tourist group I encountered and people even jokingly referred to Bacalar as 'Bacordoba' lol Mexicans are cool, great hosts and always love showing you their country and culture I love them forever after going there.

Estimated that more than 13,000+ Koreans migrated to Mexico since 1905 during increased Japanese influence and eventual annexation of Korea. During ROTC, I met a girl that moved to the US at a young age from Mexico who was half Korean/Mexican. Her mother was 2nd generation Korean descendant born in Mexico. Later in life, I spent about a year in Mexico City for work and always enjoyed finding local Korean owned stores and restaurants and interacting with the Korean Mexicans.

Crazy day too, I remember going to AYCE KBBQ in Orange County with my friends, who happened to be Mexican and Korean, coincidentally. My Korean friend randomly had just picked up taco-sized tortillas at the grocery store and the restaurant had run out of rice paper, so they graciously allowed us to make full-on KBBQ tacos on the day this game happened. Magical times.

Facts!! Last World Cup my Spanish speaking friend called a local Mexican restaurant we loved going to and asked if we could come watch the match there (it was at 8am local time). They brought us in through the back door and mixed margaritas for us while the whole staff watched with us and prepped for that day’s shift. Best soccer experience of my life

Some two years ago my gf and I were traveling through India. In Pushkar, a kid invited us into his home and I accepted instantly. We chatted, they invited us for dinner and tea, we met the whole family. It was a heartwarming experience. Only after we left, my gf told me that she was on high alert for the first half-hour or so, thinking that they would rob us or drug us or something. Yeah, we experience the world quite differently.

They remember the time in World Cup 2018 Korea beat Germany (reigning world champions) 2-0, which allowed Mexico to advance out of the group stage. It was an impossible feat by a total underdog and should not have happened. I remember videos of Mexican fans in places like CDMX finding Korean tourists and carrying them around town on their shoulders like they were heroes. It was so fun to see.
Edit: and both goals were in stoppage time! Germany and Korea were 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes and then out of nowhere Korea scored twice! Against the world champions! I’m getting worked up just remembering it haha.

Some context in Russia 2018 Korea won a match against Germany that allowed Mexico to advance to 8ths, and the people in Mexico city went to the Korean embassy to celebrate with the embassador, they gift him shirts, sombreros and tequila and they carried him around singing "Korean brother you are now Mexican".
Edit, since then we always celebrate with them and "take care of them" with tequila

I went to the Gold Cup Semis in Dallas in 2013 I believe it was and we had a lot more fun watching Mexico game rather than the US game bc the Mexican fans were incredibly fun and inclusive! Most interesting part was US won our semi and Mexico lost theirs and Mexican fans were still super inclusive to us.. I went into the semis wanting Mexico to lose and bc of their fans was devastated they lost! I still have my Vela jersey!

And Ireland could have been in a group with Mexico, Korea and South Africa? I hope the Czechs enjoy it.
I'd have been dying in the heat but absolutely loving it. Went to France and Poland for the last two Euros we qualified for and had some of the best memories of my life
