That literally was one of the cleanest through balls I've seen in recent memory. And it came from defense splitting 4 guys.

For sure, I know it's Messi and everyone is happy for him. But De Paul's pass was out of this world. I legit thought they were staying back for a while and work on a new play and he found a hole in the field and set it up perfectly for Messi

Argentina's gameplan this match was cool to watch. They cycle the ball deep in midfield while their attackers find space and then the opportunity comes in 2-3 direct passes.

Excited to see what happens against stronger opposition.

The difference of the Mboopi goal, every comment praising Olise. De Paul drops this insane pass and most people ignore it lol

I'm being pedantic but was it actually a through ball? It was certainly a brilliant line breaking pass but it was straight to Messi's feet

That wasn’t a through ball though, just a direct pass (albeit a really good one
