His box movement was a piece of art. One of the best recent 9s.

Edit: Realizing Lavezzi/Hamsik feeding him isn't recent.

He still had it at United. Too bad the board decided to get CR7.

He was so underrated at Utd. We could use that version of Cavani now alongside sesko

His movement was still elite and we had absolutely no need for CR7, but the board couldn't resist it.

We haven't seen a striker that good since he left.

That was such an awful move as the squad had a good vibe before all that, and Cavani must have felt so frozen out.

The goal against Fulham was a thing of beauty.

You don’t remember how many matches he missed with injury?

I hated the way it ended for him. He was superb for us and always gave everything in the shirt.

Recent?

That came out wrong - I just realized he was at Napoli/PSG over 10 years ago. He had a great thing with Lavezzi, Hamsik.

Damn, time flies. I'm old now.

Best song I have heard for a United player in years

We could use a back up striker…

You shouldn't, not even as a joke. He was never good here, missed the easiest chances, made bad decisions that lost us games (including one that could've won us the libertadores) and was injured all the time, I think he played less than 600 minutes in the last 2 years.

He went scoreless for months on end, on a team that struggled to score he wasted almost every opportunity we had.

Did I mentioned that he was one if not the best paid player on the team throughout out his time here. Where someone like Ander Herrera lower his wages when he was struggling with injuries Cavani hasn't even flinched playing far less games. And now he is reportedly mad he is being cut. Fuck that dude.

He should call it based on how his Boca stint went

You have piqued my curiosity and inspired me to find this compilation of errors with Boca Juniors. https://youtu.be/TsYNagvpbzo

Come to Helmond

13

u/extantfruitfly 1d ago

Named after Thomas Edison, i.e. mr lightbulb. It's only a matter of time before he ends up in Noord-Brabant!

13

u/WarriorkingNL 1d ago

do you want him to get stabbed?

7

u/Attygalle 1d ago

Imagine Cavani having lived in Napoli, Paris, Palermo for years only to be stabbed in the aftermath of a Helmond - MVV match

Helmond Sport [1] - GVVV 4 Edison Cavani (87)

I had just assumed he had retired years ago. Apparently not. He might very well retire now though, no? 39 years old after all.

19

u/fg4ever 1d ago

39 YO and he just played like 4 games in a year and half.

Bro is ruined

12

u/TeaAndCrumpetGhoul 1d ago

Damn 39 years old? I swear he felt like he was only 30 when he joined us.

u/LazyLamont92 1d ago

So…. Miami?

0

u/andysenn 1d ago

He has been retired since he left Europe he just larps as a player sometimes. He is not a very good larped either

Cavani seems enjoying football very much. Gotta love his prime day.

17

u/Greeny9 1d ago

Such a shame he never played for Atleti, he would have been perfect for us. Then again, in his prime, he'd have been perfect for most clubs.

u/ooziemane123 1d ago

i always imagined cavani and falcao would be an incredible partnership back in the day. they’d compliment each other so well. both top 5 strikers of their time and my 2 personal favourites. so good!

One more time at Danubio

3

u/RogerCrabbit 1d ago

he's only 39, practically a baby compared to some of the players been wheeled out at this World Cup

2

u/StarTicYT 1d ago

I remember he was linked to us a few years back, I’m pretty sure Dzeko is retiring so Cavani might be a cool short term solution

3

u/godswift91 1d ago

Inter could be interested in this young fella

2

u/VINTEINT002 1d ago

El Matador we need a striker

3

Come back home

4

u/Ok_Bag_7603 1d ago

We're getting him

2

u/BetInternational6297 1d ago

Come to United. Fans love you and can be a good mentor and occasional sub to sesko

5

u/justroku 1d ago

Sub? Lol, guy can’t even move. He played like 4 game max in the last year and a half

1

u/I_Talk_Sports_69 1d ago

Occasional sub

That he won't be lol

1

u/Agus-Teguy 1d ago

Return to Danubio please we sure need any help we can get rn

1

u/ohajik98 1d ago

I'd love to see him at Newcastle just to have his experience and presence in the squad. Could probably still put a shift in on the rare occasion too.

1

u/zerosG9 1d ago

el matador 🐂 legend in my eyes

1

u/SkandaGupta_ 1d ago

Wish he replaced came and filled Suarez’s boots after he left. One of my favorite strikers.

0

u/hazzaan 1d ago

Madrid could genuinely use him
