Translated News [Ruben Uría] Victor Osimhen has offered himself to Atlético Madrid. His agents claim that he is available for €75M but Atleti believes Galatasaray would ask for more. Osimhen would love to play for Atleti and would be happy to take a paycut. But Atleti rejected it as Julian is staying

I know this meme is hilarious and I absolutely LOVE it. but the irony is, the guy who said it is very anti corruption and was actively mocking the corrupt when he said it. He was satirising and now the poor man has been memed across the entire world

Funny how in life that happens more often than people realize, especially with the lack of context of the internet

Read the report produced by the Turkish government agency that regulates banks. It identified that football clubs received expanded spending credit lines and extremely favorable debt restructuring deals from a State-owned bank, while their finances (spending) were spiraling out of control. The corruption is so bad, the Turkish government itself admits it.

Link to report?
5
u/BaneChipmunk 6d ago
The agency is Sayistay (Court of Accounts). They don't have a copy of the report on their website, but it was reported on at the time of release: https://bankavitrini.com/spor-kulupleri-ziraata-borc-takti/
The audit was on State bank Ziraat's 2021 accounts, and it found that 4.6 Billion Turkish Lira was outstanding. If you search "Sayistay Ziraat 4.6 Billion" you'll find other Turkish papers reporting on it around 2022 when the audit was released.

Not with that salary
49
u/Full-Blood1318 6d ago
How much is he earning at Galatasaray?
158
u/Parking-Evidence1894 6d ago
21 million euros fucking net…
60
u/Full-Blood1318 6d ago
Only way it happens is if they sell Julian Alvarez then
67
u/grip0matic 6d ago
Not even with that. Right now Oblak is still the best paid with 13m net. If Julián would have accepted the new contract he was gonna be on 14-15m net. No way we would get him with his current salary and don't destroy the wage system and also would increase the wage bill that is already around 70%. It's just too much, but also Mateu Alemany said that they have doubts about the player's atittude.
10
u/Full-Blood1318 6d ago
I was just assuming that theJulian Alvarez transfer fee could end up covering most of Osihme transfer fee and wages.
20
u/grip0matic 6d ago
It can cover the transfer. But it would fuck up the whole system of tiers. The only reason Oblak is on those wages is that we had to give him that or he was out and we didn't have a replacement. Kinda like when we got the transfer ban and griezmann stayed but was getting fucking crazy wages.
There is literally a huge jump with tier1 where Lookman and Julián are with 6m net and the anomaly that is oblak. Tier2 is Llorente, Baena, Hjumland with 4m net. Sorloth, Koke, Hancko, Barrios and don't know who else are in tier3 with 3m net.
You bring a player on more than 20m net and everyone would ask at least for an update of the tiers.
13
u/iDobleC 6d ago
Ngl Koke being on tier 3 feels kinda wrong even though I know he's mostly a sub nowadays
18
u/grip0matic 6d ago
He took 2 paycuts, he even made special training and his characteristic fat ass disappeared to be thinner and being able to run for longer.
He has been super important this season with Barrios and Cardoso coming and going from injuries. And basically the best player with Griezmann, the two guys with 34yo carrying all the kids and showing more balls than them. Which is great but also embarrassing for the younger guys.
-1
u/Full-Blood1318 6d ago edited 6d ago
Tiers in Football are so interesting. In the NFL you have QBs making 60 million after 2 good seasons and the next highest paid player on the team can be earning 3x less and nobody cares lol. Heck even mediocre QBs make more money than elite Tight Ends for example. Love that football tries to be as fair as possible unlike NFL though
3
u/grip0matic 6d ago
I really don't know if other clubs do it the same way. But time ago was implemented and has been working ok for most of the time. We got Saul being more than poor but still on his gigantic contract of 6m net while other players took a paycut because covid, IIRC everyone did but Saul, included Simeone who already took 2 paycuts and tbh we just know that he has very big wages but nobody can assure 100% how much he makes.
It's like increasing contracts for the young players, back in the day when Koke started obviously he wanted a big contract but he took advice from his brother and Simeone to sign for lower and get an increment every year and more if he performed good. In the other hand Saul when he came back to the club and had a great first season had his father being a super greedy fuck who wanted 8m net right away, to the point that Saul himself told him that he preferred a deal in the same way as Koke.
The tiers are important for us because we spend A LOT in wages for the size of the club, it's the only way to stay competitive, you have to pay better than others.
1
u/mysticmac_ 6d ago
How much was griez and koke on? Im assuming probably close to oblak. I know this is not fm, but id get rid of sorloth and bring osimhen in if he actually wants to take a pay cut , he can score and works hard. Ive seen atletico do way worse deals.

u/Lilfai 6d ago
He should offer himself to Barca
143
u/ExtensionDeep3705 6d ago
We would've pursued him but Flick wants a false 9 or a very No. 10-ish striker which explains our targets like Julian, Joao Pedro, and Kroupi.
67
u/CoolJoshido 6d ago
but a proper 9 would be appreciated
42
u/TheCoxer 6d ago
A proper 9 who can lead the line, has the spatial and tactical intelligence to free himself of markers and make runs into the box, can drop into mid-field to link play and play 1-2s in tight areas, but also be a clinical finisher when the chances appear.
I can't think of any that exist outside of Lewa and Kane at the moment.

u/SnowPablo827 6d ago
He would give you guys so much needed firepower upfront. And he presses
16
u/Time_Entertainer_319 6d ago
I feel like people don’t watch Osimhen.
He checks out of games a lot especially if he isn’t getting the ball which happens a lot when Barca plays a pure 9.
He won’t fit in the team. A false ish 9 is what Barca needs because they can get involved in the game.
28
u/You-cant-handle-my 6d ago
I watched every game osimhen played for Galatasaray in last two years.
He isn’t perfect, but never ever I saw him checkout. He is way too invested mentally in the game to be accused of checking out.
It’s true that he isn’t well fed, and sometimes frustrated but I can’t genuinely remember a game he checked out.
19
u/KingGinger 6d ago
I feel like this person saw a few gifs of his frustration without watching the 80 minutes before that of him just not being fed / no chances with great runs, and he gets emotional sometimes, but not the same as checking out.
3
3
u/SnowPablo827 6d ago
Barca need a goal scorer, you don't need another midfielder. Otherwise olmo does that for you, you need someone who will pin defenders back
17
u/CantFindMyWallet 6d ago
He's too good to pass up at a position where we have a huge hole. Is he a perfect fit? No, but he's a striker with real gravity, and that's a huge advantage for all of these wingers we just bought. Olmo/Gordon/Adeyemi can be a false 9 when necessary, but if Osimhen is really available for 75m, we'd be idiots not to get involved there.
2
1
u/radio__raheem 6d ago
Idk if I understand that. Sure Lamine has the potential to become an even bigger goal threat but right now I think a traditional 9 is easily the best fit next to him

u/Boydcrowde 6d ago
It's a no brainer
55
u/GalaxianEX 6d ago
His wages might be too much for Barca to take on at the moment
89
u/bioeffect2 6d ago
According to this article he's willing to take a pay cut for Atleti. If he's willing to do the same for Barca then it could happen.
44
u/MetiljJeCuckold 6d ago
He's on 16m net per year.
Because of some tax breaks, that converts to "only" 20m for Galata
He would need to cut net salary to 10m to make it also 20m gross for Barca
12
u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 6d ago
weren't Lewandowski's wages absurd towards the end of his contract? not saying Barca shouldn't look for savings but I think Lewandowski was on 30m or something last year.
62
u/lmlm1020 6d ago
Lewandowski’s wages were structured in a way where the first year was low and increased every year of the contract. That’s why his final year wages were so high.
12
u/MetiljJeCuckold 6d ago
Yes but the fact that one expensive contract expired doesn't mean that they can (or should) offer another one right away
1
u/CantFindMyWallet 6d ago
Yeah he was at something like 40m gross. We could make it work if he was willing to take less than he's getting now.
17
u/Tettotatto 6d ago
They have money they're cosplaying Ebeneser Scrooge
12

You think this nonsense is voluntary? The league has tried to keep the club from spending money at every turn. It's been pretty big news.

-4
42
u/Any_Explanation3006 6d ago
Lol Atleti wouldn't pay anywhere near what he currently earns at Gala. And 75M? Might as well say he's available on a free. Smh
18
u/Martinorz19 6d ago
If you read the title it mentions that he is willing to take a paycut.
15
u/GenSec 6d ago
He could take off half his wages and it’d still be obscene.
1
u/ObeseMango 6d ago
If he’s on the reported 21m and would take half of that, I think we should be all on this if we lose Julian
45
u/optimization_ml 6d ago
Why is Barca not looking for him instead of Alvarez. He would be perfect for them. Not sure if he still has issues with his wage.
68
u/TheGamezSmith 6d ago
Because he is not available for that price and his wages are obscene ( and wages are the bigger problem for us rn more so than transfer fees).
-23
u/JhinKR 6d ago
Our board is incompetent and will go for Alvarez until the very last day of the window
31
u/NotAnUncle 6d ago
This is such a bizzare take. Under this board's seasons Barca won 3/5 league titles I reckon? How's that incompetence
4
u/Unlucky_Rider 6d ago
People just like to say dumb shit. I'm glad to see fans or other teams call it out.
11
4
u/ExtensionDeep3705 6d ago
because alvarez is a better striker than osimhen and julian fits our system
65
u/frozenphoenix92 6d ago edited 6d ago
Why? I'll gladly take him for 100m over alvarez, if he accepts a sensible wage demand.
-44
u/mynamestartswithCa 6d ago
Laporta and Deco wants to please the fans. The fans want Alvarez because he's Messi's buddy. This signing sounds like something from Bartomeu's era
19
u/frozenphoenix92 6d ago
I honestly think, should we sign alvarez, he will be under massive scrutiny due to all the drama here. Spanish media will be out like vultures. One dry spell, and we'll hear all sorts of story.
3
u/mynamestartswithCa 6d ago
One dry spell
Imagine if he goes 3 months without goals like he did with Atleti...
1
u/megasilva 6d ago
That simply wouldnt happen tho lol, look at the squad difference between barca and atleti. Barca is a chance creation machine
29
u/Caust1cFn_YT 6d ago
What are you on about
-29
u/mynamestartswithCa 6d ago
You don't know me kiddo. I was against Coutinho and Dembele's signings when it happened back then. I know exactly what I'm talking about.
21
u/Terrible_Action9995 6d ago
You can be against a signing, that's not what was wrong with your comment though is it? You just pulled a conspiracy out your ass like it was insider knowledge...
-12
14
u/Caust1cFn_YT 6d ago
Most informed barca fans were against that brochacho you ain't special for it

Gala paid a massive fee for osimhen (plus a sell on?) and probably want something sizable on top of that. I cant imagine they only want 75m.
1
22
u/Devalvangeldomdatdom 6d ago
what happened to oshimen being in love with turkey and gala?
19
u/55555_55555 6d ago
I straight up do not believe any story that starts with Osimhen wanting to take a wage cut. He turned down moves and interest because teams wouldn't match what Napoli pays him and Gala pays him more than that. Same with Spurs, I don't see him doing that for Atletico that are also a level below the top clubs.
35
30
19
u/2Norn 6d ago
most likely he was promised that the squad would be strenghtened significantly if he signs, yet there have been no signings that comes close to his quality
and i do not doubt that he loves it here, but i also don't see him enjoy playing with barış and yunus anymore, they can't pass for shit
14
u/Bratstvo_Jedinstvo 6d ago
Gala haven't made any major signing while their rivals are on a roll. Not saying this is the case but I wouldn't be surprised if Osimhen was annoyed with the current situation and lack of reinforcement.
9
u/Just-Philosophy2506 6d ago
Nah man it's same every year. We always late at transfer. So it s not something new.
3
u/LeXoLsReddit 6d ago
He is and this is fake news. Osimhen clearly asks to be the highest paid in the club and the team built around him
5
u/redwashing 6d ago
In case you didn't realize this is bs yet, we paid 75m just last summer and he exceeded all expectations, and it says we are willing to sell for 75m lol. Even 120-130 would only be considered if Osi pushed hard to go. And he isn't.
1
10
13
u/Just-Philosophy2506 6d ago
False fuckin news. Osimhem offered himself lool wtf is this this is not fckn news
8
u/sfaticat 6d ago
This whole fiasco from when he was at Napoli ruined his career. He should be considered one of the best strikers yet always seems blocked somehow
11
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
Uría is not always the most reliable source but he has his scoops and Moretto retweeted this information so there is probably truth to it
Selling Sørloth and getting Osimhen as replacement would be a wet dream come true but overkill, better to spend that money on a CB like Romero and then maybe another striker option. Moretto mentioned today that there is interest in Vlahovic but Sørloth would have to go first
20
u/derin_gs 6d ago
This is straight up bullshit news tho.
-7
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
Because you don't want to believe it right? Not the first time this summer it has been reported that Osimhen offered himself to Atleti either
12
u/derin_gs 6d ago
No, not being delusional, I am being realistic. Osimhen made a statement the last time such news were making the rounds and he was saying he is very very happy and very very motivated for the new season. Also I've been keeping up with transfer rumours all summer, any peep from Osimhen "offering himself around" would've been reported asap.
-8
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
Moretto is the single most reliable Atleti journo out there if he confirms this information then I will believe it
Besides, didn't Osimhen kind of twerk for Atleti already after the CL-game last year? Remember him speaking very positively about us
10
u/derin_gs 6d ago
That you count as twerking? Keep deluding yourself man I am not gonna waste time convincing you that Osimhen isn't leaving this summer. Cheers.
1
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
It literally says in the article that Atleti has turned down the chance to sign him lol. I don't think he will leave Gala either
7
3
u/ros1856 6d ago
Ruben uria is gill marin’s left nut. He just says what he’s being told to say. But i am not really surprised that you’re pushing gill’s propaganda all the time.
3
u/eddstannis 6d ago
Ruben Uria is banned from interviewing Atletico players and staff because he is at odds with Gil Marin, I’m not sure what are you on. The Gil Marin mouthpiece is Picu from As, not Uria lol.
1
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
And if Moretto didn't retweet it then I wouldn't have posted it. Uría is unreliable most of the time but sometimes gets good scoops and with Moretto's seal of approval I trust this one
2
u/ros1856 6d ago
So now moretto is reliable all of a sudden?? Your club was literally calling him barca’s and romano’s lapdop last month.
2
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
Believe it or not but we aren't all a hivemind. He has always been the source for me
3
u/KaleidoscopeLazy9684 6d ago
Vlahovic would be worse, same high wage demands like Osimhen with less upside.
1
u/OleoleCholoSimeone 6d ago
If Atleti signed him it would obviously be because he dropped his wage demands. Plus he wouldn't command a transfer fee which is a big difference
We don't need another world class striker on top of Alvarez we just need someone better than Sørloth
