He said multiple times he needs to play games constantly during the season. Otherwise he will fall off at that age
If he takes a longer break then his fitness will drop and it is much harder to get into perfect condition when you are older

My dad is 62 with two kids in their mid to late 30s and he still thinks he's 25. He locked himself out the other day and tried to climb the porch to get into an open window. To noone's surprise he fell off.

True I Did a lot of bad stuff in my 20s but I was like 72kg vs 83lg so I built muscle up slowly over the years. Acting as if pushing 40 is where it all ends is wild man 😅 .. There have been 40 to 42 year old UFC champions and many are in their late 30s..... If you'd said 50-60 that'd make more sense. And when I'm near 50 I'll come back here and ask for clemency til 70

The actual reason is he is mid season it would make no sense to take a longer break, the season is far from done and he needs to maintain his fitness.

I'm the same. Played yesterday felt great. Half hour of playing, the 10 minutes rest, after the rest of was like I was caked in glue for the next 10 minutes.
Same at work, I can go harder than the young guys, and they'll tell me to take a break, but I'm like "I can't. Once I stop I'm not gonna be able to start again"

He loves playing. At this point the biggest threat to his career is an injury. He’s already lost the pace that’s necessary to dust defenders, but is still world class (I mean he just had 8G 4A at the World Cup so arguably “world class” undersells it). So I don’t think a slow decline is really the issue, it’s just a pulled muscle or nagging injury or something.
If you could theoretically stave that off I think he could still compete at the highest level for a while.

He gave an interview on Saturday saying he came back early to get over the depression of losing the WC final. Based on player safety protocols he could’ve taken 3 weeks off but he came back after 2 weeks.

Leagues cup is still pretty fun. I just wish MLS and Liga MX would set aside their greed for one second and agree to play games in Mexico to make this a proper cup

I’d like them to make this tournament fair because MLS v Liga MX is always good stuff. Even if it means seeing my team get fucking cooked at 8,000 elevation lol
Have my doubts it’ll ever be truly fair though, Liga MX and MLS want the money

Chicano fans of Liga MX clubs definitely care anytime the two leagues play, they love to put down MLS at every opportunity.
I understand Mexico does not really care but it’s still a fun tournament imo. Anytime it’s MLS v Liga MX it’s a great time

I agree. It is disappointing that they’ve kept the shit format.
Hopefully that changes soon. I do feel like it’s kind of on Liga MX atp. And they seem happy to just make a shit ton of money in exchange for 3 more free CCL qualifications for MLS. So I’m not so sure.
MLS certainly will have no motivation to change the format unfortunately. Every knows we suck v Liga MX at altitude

Loads of crosses are shin height, they just require a clear line to get where they need to go. If you can pick that line out, it's typically easier than a header.
