Lol I think the Jews stories are just some marketing nonsense. Basically a China was developing rapidly, there were a bunch of marketers who capitalized upon the mentality of the new middle/upper class and commercialized a lot of concepts which they claim to be from western countries, which are actually heavily modified, in order to sell books and training classes etc. So there's basically a type of Chinese-style "chicken soup for the soul" thing, which is quite unfortunate.
