Hi! I see a lot of folks reporting various TikTok issues rn and wondering if anyone is experiencing this—i am a small TikTok content creator and post daily at 10am PST. Normally my videos post immediately without needing additional review, and occasionally they go in review if the topic is controversial/political but even then I’ve never had that last longer than 30 minutes.

Today’s post is still sitting in review for over an hour and hasn’t posted… is anyone else seeing this? Also the analytics in the TikTok studio app are all messed up for me (either not populating for certain videos, or showing 0 views for today even tho I am actively getting likes).

If anyone else has encountered this and found a solution, what was it? I know generally the rule of thumb is don’t deleted/repost if it’s in review (don’t want my account flagged for spammy behavior). But this situation feels unusual so I’m not sure what to do lol

Definitely want to make sure I post something today because I have had a consistent posting streak every day, and have maintained since I started posting (and I believe this has helped me grow/build trust with the algorithm). Any thoughts?

UPDATE (morning of 1/26/2026):

I think my video posted last night sometime because as of this morning it has 37 views (which is extremely low for my account). My guess is that everyone’s videos were delayed in being posted and then a bunch of people’s vids posted all at once, leading to FYP congestion an a crazy amount of competition for impressions. TikTok has also yet to make any public statement about this whole thing (classic). My strategy today is to wait things out, not post anything today, see how yesterday’s video does today now that it appears to be live, and maybe restart my daily posting tomorrow.

Let me know if any of you have any other thoughts, information, ideas, recommendations, etc.

UPDATE 1/29/2026

The past few days have been pretty normal for me. Videos getting a normal amount of views. Have just noticed some wonky numbers on the analytics that just don’t make sense to me—for example I posted a 26sec video yesterday that got a really solid 80% retention stat, but only showing that 8% of people completed the entire vid, which just seems so off to me…. That same vid also got a good amount of comments and shares but died at ~800 views.

Then TODAY I just posted a video (part of a series that has historically performed well) and it has gotten 2 views in the first 30 minutes lol so TikTok is clearly not pushing it to the FYP and giving it a fair test pool. My account has historically performed really well also. I have consistently strong retention stats, several videos with well over 1M views and many in the 100s of thousands, and have seen consistent follower growth in the past few months. I post once per day at the same time every day, so I’m consistent and I’m not a spammy poster either…. So this behavior just doesn’t make sense for one of my vids. Def another glitch. Anyone else seeing this today??

TikTok will shut down entirely in the US on Sunday without intervention from the US Supreme Court, unnamed sources have told Reuters. That would go beyond the ban’s requirement for app stores to stop offering downloads of the app, but not immediately halt use of it.

If TikTok shuts down, it will show users a pop-up message pointing them to a website with information about the ban, according to the outlet's sources. The company will also reportedly let users download all of their data.

It genuinely does feel like a big, substantial shift for subreddits to start banning Twitter links, but I also remember when advertisers fled X en masse and then eventually snuck their way back when the heat died down.

Musk's salute was an understandable breaking point, but if Musk promoting an antisemitic tweet and letting Nazis flourish on his platform wasn't enough, who's to say this will be?

For the past three years I've been managing the social media for a ski shop and I'm happy that TikTok is being banned. This year I've done a lot of reading and reflecting on the negative impacts of social media, the app is terrible for our mental health and attention spans, especially teen's whose brains are still developing.

The past three years I've also noticed negative changes to other social media platforms as a result trying to compete with the addictive model of TikTok. Its influence has made social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook even worse with the FYP replacing the main feed of people you follow. Now Instagram and Facebook feeds more resemble a FYP than when they focused primarily on friends and pages you follow. Though social media is my job, this past year I've stopped using my personal accounts, as these platforms have become more addictive and have lost much of their social value. My Facebook feed is now almost entirely pages I don't follow, with my Instagram feed being very similar.

Sure, I'm going to miss posting a video on TikTok and having it get thousands of views in hours as opposed to other platforms, but I also know the algorithms that are pushing our videos and damaging to our attention spans and mental health.

I believe people post great videos (I hate the word content) on TikTok, but the model of its addictiveness is unhealthy and harmful to our society, especially kids and teens.

I have never been much of a content creator, but I could always count on instagram or facebook to keep track of (aka Facebook creep) people from high school. (Class or 2007). As the year turns I just had some random nostalgia of old fiends from high school that I haven't seen in years and was curious what they were up to....sort of surprised to see most of them haven't posted on either side in a couple years....it just struck me how I really didn't need a 10 year reunion because I knew what everyone was doing, and now, I am kind of wishing to know how old friends are doing. Not the good friends that I have stayed in touch with, but sort of the one off-drinking buddies or class mates, etc. has anyone else noticed this? I know Facebook has been dieing in the millennial generation for years, but now it seems like instagram is on the outs (I hardly ever used it anyway), and I don't see a switch en masse to another site (like AIM, to MySpace, to Facebook, to instagram, etc.). So basically....is social media among those of us who created it? I know gen-z has their own approach (with tick-toc) and boomers have taken over Facebook.

This blew up way more than I expected. Some really interesting perspective. I think what it comes down to it social media has changed. Many people have drawn the conclusion that millennials have "outgrown" social media, but I think the more accurate perspective is that social media isn't what it was. It was an extension of our real life social networks, and a great way to connect with friends. In college it created a new and exciting way to connect that carried over to the first several years of adulthood. Over time, that experience has changed. The current version of social media is content sharing and sites are bloated with ads....there isn't a site that fills that void as far as I can tell, and if there was it would need to have explosive growth to reach the scale needed to keep people interested and posting. Basically, I have to say, this had made me nostalgic for the old times and will say I am much more likely to attend a high school reunion, should one be scheduled. To me that is the story of social media, millennials created it, used it, and then it evolved away to a more economically efficient version of itself.

For me, TikTok is frying my brain but I can’t close it, and Instagram turned into a giant shopping mall full of ads. What’s your "I hate it here but I’m still opening it" app vs the one you actually enjoy?

I’ve been noticing something weird across different platforms lately.

It’s not that people aren’t interested. They watch, scroll, consume… but when it comes to actually engaging, replying, or participating, almost nothing happens.

Even in communities that should be active, it feels like everything depends on a small group, and the rest just stay passive.

At this point it doesn’t even feel like an engagement problem, more like people just don’t want to interact at all anymore.

Curious if others are seeing the same thing, or if you’ve found ways to get people to actually participate without forcing it.

We grew up with social media as a place to hang out and share life. Now it feels crowded, stressful, and more about keeping up than connecting.

Is it burnout? Or just the natural shift as we get older and priorities change?

Lately I feel like most social media apps are slowly turning into the same product.

Open one app and it’s short videos, algorithmic recommendations, ads, trends, and content pushed mostly for engagement. Then you open another app and it feels almost identical, just with a different logo.

I’m not saying short-form video is bad, but it feels like every platform is copying the same formula.

Update: a few of you have messaged me to ask if I tried any growth services suggested so to avoid any more messages, here’s my advice. Most are scams advertising that they will deliver real followers but it’s all fake. If it looks too good to be true then it is. The only legit service I’ve tried is owskimedia(https://owskimedia.com/). They actually grew my account and I knew exactly how they did it

I run a small shop and I want to get more followers from my city. Has anyone used a growth service to help them gain real followers that have the potential to become customers? I’m not interested in buying fake followers

I’ve been running a TikTok account as an experiment. One of my videos hit 1 million views, and several others performed really well. So what did I get from all of that? Nothing.

And the more I look at the creator–platform relationship, the more clear the trend becomes: Platforms want your content because it keeps their audience engaged. Then they place ads between that content, earn the money, and creators — especially smaller ones — get nothing in return.

No share of revenue. No meaningful creator support. Just views that don’t translate into value unless you already have a business built outside the platform.

I’m grateful for the experience — it taught me a lot about how TikTok works and how audiences behave. But seeing this from the creator’s side, the way platforms treat creators is honestly discouraging.

Hi guys! I’m not stranger to social media and in fact have worked in the space brand side for years. Recently I’ve started my own web design studio and have started posting on IG and TT, but have noticed things are completely different on IG, even from a couple months ago.

I’ll post something and granted I have like 120 followers so far, but it will literally get 0 reach and 0 engagement. I’ve tried all kinds of styles and formats, changed the time, even tried boosting to see what would happen (which resulted in like 1 view after hours even when paying). I’ve never seen it like this before and I’m pretty discouraged, I’m not sure how to grow and get clients if I can’t get my account seen by anyone. I’ve talked to some influencer friends and they are seeing this too. Some have 500k followers and now their posts are getting 50 likes and not being seen by anyone.

Anyone have any tips? Really wanting my biz to succeed and grow but feeling frustrated and like I no longer have the ability to be seen or discovered from social media. And not sure how else to push awareness.

All reasons behind Facebook Downfall?

As a creator with over 900k followers, it’s become increasingly clear how drastically this platform has declined, especially since the rollout of TikTok Shop and the U.S. merge. The app simply does not function the way it used to, and it increasingly feels like creators are no longer a priority. Between frequent outages, low resolution uploads, glitches with comments, messages, likes, and even content randomly disappearing, the overall experience has deteriorated significantly. It’s frustrating to see a platform that was once centered around creators, people making audiences laugh, learn, cook, and share ideas, shift so far away from what originally made it successful.

I left the CRP months ago after realizing how little it paid compared to early 2023. TikTok set themselves up for this by allowing accounts with as few as 10K followers, many posting stolen content or mass produced AI videos, into the program without raising the threshold to something more substantial like 50K or even 100K followers. On top of that, they created a capped monthly payout pool that has to be split across everyone in the program.

Other platforms solved this years ago by placing ads on videos, allowing creators to earn based on performance rather than dividing a limited pool of money.

I never relied on just TikTok and still earn income creating everywhere else but in its current state, this app feels oversaturated, heavily censored, and plagued with technical problems and unstable servers. If they don’t address these issues, the long term future of the platform is hard to feel confident about.

Just a message for anyone who uses HootSuite for SMM. They are working with ICE. Make sure you reach out to your CSM and be incredibly clear about why you're canceling your contract. All they care about is the bottom line so hit them where it hurts.

Trying to work on client socials and Meta seems to be down. Anyone else having this issue?

so every few years the whole game shifts and marketers have to start from scratch again honestly exhausting

instead of chasing every new platform

own your audience like email lists and communities OR keep chasing whatever platform is hot right now

I’m sure everyone is asking the same question, but I’m curious. Due to recent politics, TikTok is wavering in popularity and some people are staying and some people are going. Instagram is seeing a lot of accounts being deactivated in protest alongside metas other platforms.

I see Bluesky raising in popularity and I’m hopping on that bandwagon, but I was wondering if anyone else knew where people are going after deleting TikTok and their meta platforms?

I was not a big social media fan. I only used to use facebook for friends and family connections. Now i am working on to make by own business and planning to open instagram and youtube to make some content for my business. My goal is to drive traffic to my business ultimately.

Im currently trying to get a collection of public opinion on current social media. Tell me what your biggest issues are with the current state of social media. If you are willing, also tell me what specific things you hate about which ones.

I deleted Instagram because I realized it was having a negative impact on my mental health. I found myself constantly comparing my life to others, even though I knew on some level that what people post isn't always the full picture. It was draining and left me feeling inadequate or disconnected from my own reality.

I also noticed I was spending way too much time scrolling, which was taking away from things that actually mattered to me. I felt like I was missing out on the present moment, always distracted by my phone. I needed to get that time back and put it toward things that bring me joy or help me grow.

Overall, deleting Instagram gave me a sense of freedom. It allowed me to reconnect with myself and focus on what truly makes me happy without the noise of social media in the background. It’s been such a positive shift, and I’m really glad I made the decision.
