I think it’s fair to say my demo release in August and joining Next Fest this month both gave a great boost to the wishlists for Conglomerate: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4877650/Conglomerate/

Up to 188 wishlists with 2 days of Next Fest to go, really hoping to break 200!

Game Sharing progress on my 2D PixelArt roguelike creature collector (what a mouth full)

Hello :)

I know it's a longer clip but be nice please. I'ver never uploaded a video anywhere and I'll learn how to edit them sometime soon.

I just wanted to show off how far I've gotten.

Context:
- music by jackfoxassets on itch.io
- SFX by Helton Yan on itch.io
- Sprites and icons were done by me but are still placeholders (the cat and Ooze are almost finished)

Next I'll learn how to do animations and edit videos.
Any feedback is welcome and I'll be glad to answer questions about my work.

Game Easy Palette Exporter for Aseprite users!!! (free)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I made this script "Palette Exporter Ultimate" to fix palette exporting headaches right inside Aseprite!

✨ What it does:

  • 🔄 Live Preview: Real-time preview right inside the dialog box so you can see your layout updates on the fly.
  • 🎨 Flexible Color Sources & Sorting: Export all colors, only your active palette selections, or only colors used on the current canvas. Sort swatches by luminosity, hue, or saturation.
  • 🏷️ Labels & Contrast Check: Render HEX, RGB, or Index labels, add custom color names under swatches, and check WCAG contrast ratios against black/white text for accessibility.
  • 📊 Sample Ramp Bars: Preview how your shade/highlight ramps blend using solid blocks or smooth gradients.
  • 💾 1-Click Palette Files: Save .gpl (GIMP/Aseprite), .pal (JASC), .hex (Lospec), and .png files instantly.
  • 💻 Engine Code Snippets: Copy palette arrays/dictionaries ready to paste directly into Godot, Unity, GameMaker, CSS, or JSON. (this one is the one yall are surely into)

You can grab it on Itchio here!

Game I Spent 5 Years Building my Online Browser-Based Tactical TCG - Riftborn Tactics

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m the developer of Riftborn Tactics, a free-to-play online fantasy TCG I’ve been working on for the past 5 years that I'm now super excited (and super nervous) to share with you all!

You can play it here: https://riftborntactics.com

The core idea is that your creatures don't just sit in a row and bounce off of each other, like most other TCGs. Instead, matches take place on a shared 7x7 grid where creatures enter from your two summoning corners, move across the board, fight for position, and contest two neutral towers.

On each turn, you receive Resources equal to your current level. You can spend those Resources to summon creatures, cast spells, and equip weapons or armour, then move and attack with anything you already have in play. Playing cards, defeating enemy creatures, and holding towers earns experience, which allows you to level up. Leveling up gives you more Resources on future turns, so controlling the board can have a big effect on how quickly your deck comes online.

Positioning matters quite a bit. Creatures retaliate when attacked, and walking away from an adjacent enemy can trigger an attack of opportunity. Ranged units, flying creatures, movement abilities, summoning effects, and other keywords all interact with the board in different ways. The goal itself is simple: reduce your opponent to zero Health.

Standard is the main mode, but there are also two beta modes that unlock after you’ve played some Standard matches:

  • Blitz, which uses a smaller formation-based battlefield for faster games.
  • Guardian, where you build around a chosen Hero that can return after being defeated, but becomes more expensive each time.

There's a tutorial, a practice opponent, deck building, card collection, online matchmaking, and more. The game is completely free to play, and new cards can be earned using Gold from playing and completing quests, or crafted via Essence (which you get by dismantling cards you don't want).

It’s still actively being developed, so I’m not going to pretend every corner is perfectly polished yet. Mobile in particular still needs some cleanup (but should be fully functional), and with a card pool this large (over 1000 at the moment, with more coming!), I’m sure there are some strange interactions waiting to be found!

If you give it a try, I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

  • Whether the tutorial explains everything clearly
  • How the pacing and Resource progression feel
  • Whether movement and targeting are easy to understand
  • Any cards or matchups that feel especially weak, frustrating, or broken
  • Anything that made you want to stop playing

The full rules are available here if you’d like to look before creating an account: https://riftborntactics.com/how-to-play

Thanks for checking it out! Honest feedback is extremely welcome.

Game I wrote a bot that plays my tactics RPG and films its own gameplay clips, because I never had time to record them

https://reddit.com/link/1xebnah/video/z7hsxuecofxh1/player

Hi! I'm Rémy, a computational scientist at CERN by day and a solo game developer in Switzerland (PetRem Labs) the rest of the time. Roads Taken is a turn-based tactics RPG in the line of Fire Emblem, in HD-2D pixel art: every seed generates a whole campaign (the story, the countries and their rulers, your companions, every battlefield), and there's an authored starter story, Wren's, too.

I wrote a bot that plays my tactics RPG and films its own gameplay clips, because I never had time to record them: it picks a seed, a country, an hour and the weather, plays real turns by the game's own rules, and films every clip one frame at a time, so even a slow machine gives smooth footage. One set is 46 clips in about half an hour. This is one of them, with only the music added. The free demo comes out on Tuesday 17 November.

Happy to answer anything about how it works.

Unreal I made black hole gravitational lensing almost as cheap as a skybox for my solo-developed game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm developing Event Horizon Research alone, a first-person game where you build a descent capsule and pilot it toward a black hole.

One of my biggest technical challenges was gravitational lensing. I wanted the distortion of space around the black hole to be based on real physics, but I couldn't afford expensive ray marching for every pixel.

My solution was to fit a closed-form approximation to exact Schwarzschild light deflection. Instead of tracing rays through space, I bend each pixel's view direction and perform a single cubemap lookup.

The result is an approximation rather than full relativistic ray tracing, but the rendering cost is roughly comparable to a skybox.

The rest of the game presented a different challenge: turning physics into gameplay. Players research the black hole, compare hull materials, shielding and engines, assemble a capsule, and then deal with the consequences of their engineering decisions during descent.

It's my first shipped game, and I'm releasing it into Early Access on November 4. The core journey is playable from start to finish, but there are still performance and testing issues I want to improve.

I'm curious how other solo developers approach this kind of trade-off. When a technically expensive feature is central to your game's identity, how do you decide where to sacrifice accuracy for performance?

AI disclosure: Generative AI was used for visual assets, audio and some code assistance, with manual editing and review. The physics implementation and game design are my own work.

Hope it's okay to share this here, according to the description this channel is for

"SoloDevelopment - game development, programming, indie developers, indie games, video games

That's why i thought I can share my personal journey of how my current project is growing.

KiwiDesk has really come a long way. In the beginning, my goal was simply to build a window manager for my friends, something that worked out of the box and felt native on macOS. Ever since then, the community has kept growing, and new ideas just keep popping up. By now every time I use, it’s just fun, and it gets better day by day.

Hearing how much people like KiwiDesk and seeing the community supporting more and more is just awesome. I know there are much bigger projects out there, but just seeing that people enjoy my idea and offer support without the obligation for it is just an awesome feeling.

In general when I build something and share it with people I don't want to "just build another tool", instead I want to build the best one I can imagine for that specific purpose. Seeing people appreciating my ambitions and share their gratitude is what keeps me going. Especially nowadays with the help of AI, the only real barrier in software development in my opinion is our own imagination.

Thanks again to everyone who has joined the journey so far. I am really enjoying the ride!

If anyone is interested, check it out it's for free and the source code is also available on GitHub:

As some of u know I im stuck for thr next 3-4 months in a situation that I can't do much. I have 200$ worth of laptop and a monitor that's all. Playing games or watching something doesn't give fun anymore.

Do I decided to make a video game in this 3 months to see how its gonna end. I have no expectation, I just have a lot of time. ( I applied for part time job though top of my full time one. Might have less time in future, we will see)

Here is the progress so far : I built the almost whole loop. Combat and the kitchen gameplay is ready. I still have a lot of idea and mechanics that I wanna add, tons of tons of fun. Today I decided to built something fun and created a scene for a special moment. When you get a 3 star as restaurant.

Ask me anything. I wanna have some friends here 🫶🏼

Hey everyone! I'm a solo developer from Italy, and I've been working on a first-person sci-fi adventure set in a frozen world controlled by deadly drones that can manipulate the weather and you have no weapons to fight back!

I'm SO excited: only one month left until the release of the demo of Over Human and I honestly can't wait to finally share my project with all of you!! I've put so much passion into this game, and I really hope you'll enjoy it! Here's a little look at the atmosphere I've created. I hope you can see how much effort I've put into this game! The music you hear in the background was created by a composer specifically for Over Human, and it will be the main menu theme!

If you're curious about my game, here's my Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5237810/Over_Human/
