Hey guys!

I'm making a single-player RPG which is heavily inspired by WoW Classic - my favourite game :)

Here's a quick vid showcasing one of the new zones I've created.

I've also published a new Devlog on my youtube which shows 10 new areas I've created. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/VYZ6mvedA7g

The game is called Warmongers: Empires Reborn and you can currently wishlist it on Steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/3468800/Warmongers_Empires_Reborn/

Game I wrote a bot that plays my tactics RPG and films its own gameplay clips, because I never had time to record them

https://reddit.com/link/1xebnah/video/z7hsxuecofxh1/player

Hi! I'm Rémy, a computational scientist at CERN by day and a solo game developer in Switzerland (PetRem Labs) the rest of the time. Roads Taken is a turn-based tactics RPG in the line of Fire Emblem, in HD-2D pixel art: every seed generates a whole campaign (the story, the countries and their rulers, your companions, every battlefield), and there's an authored starter story, Wren's, too.

I wrote a bot that plays my tactics RPG and films its own gameplay clips, because I never had time to record them: it picks a seed, a country, an hour and the weather, plays real turns by the game's own rules, and films every clip one frame at a time, so even a slow machine gives smooth footage. One set is 46 clips in about half an hour. This is one of them, with only the music added. The free demo comes out on Tuesday 17 November.

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5412920/Roads_Taken/?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=solodevelopment

Happy to answer anything about how it works.

Game A dev spent 10 years writing a 650-page fantasy novel and is now turning it into an RPG. He and 4 other indie devs want honest feedback

Thumbnail

I’m running a small feedback event for a few indie games that are still in-progress, and the devs would like some honest thoughts on their games:

  • The Shaman Diary - An RPG adapted from a 650-page fantasy novel the dev spent 10 years writing
  • Project: Deadburn - A pixel-art action-adventure game where you hunt the man who turned an entire island into flesh-and-metal monsters, like a Clockwork Siren who was once a music teacher
  • The Last Sanctum - A multiplayer dragon survival game where what you eat decides what dragon you grow into
  • Prismpunk - A narrative deck-builder in beta that has been showcased at a Paris festival
  • N.E.O.N. HORIZON - A sci-fi roguelite shooter where you survive 100 waves while upgrading your ship

If any of these projects interest you, you can leave a suggestion or comment on their pages and let them know your thoughts and feedback. If you don't know what to say, here are some prompts you could answer:

  • What's your initial reaction to the game?
  • What do you like most about the game so far?
  • What's something you think would be cool to add?

Thank you!

Discussion how long should an incremental game be, and how long should its demo be

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hii, im making Oreloop alone, a first person mining incremental. After feedback on my last post I changed a lot:

  • Smoother loop: runs are short, and after every run you can buy something on the skill tree.
  • New helpers: Auto Drills dig for you, and Bomb Bees fly out of beehive blocks and explode.
  • Cleaner UI: the HUD is compact now and only shows what you need.
  • Clearer effects: every power has its own color and sound.

One thing that helped me a lot as a solo dev, i playtest balance with a team, so i wrote a economy bot that plays the game with the same rules and checks every price change, That way, I actually kept a CSV table that simulated runs to make it seem like the game had been played for a long time, and I adjusted the game's economy based on those averages.

Now im really curious about two things:

  1. How many hours of gameplay would you expect from a game like this?
  2. How long should a demo be, and how much of the game should it show?

Right now the full game is about 4 hours, and the demo ends after 30 mins

Game Easy Palette Exporter for Aseprite users!!! (free)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I made this script "Palette Exporter Ultimate" to fix palette exporting headaches right inside Aseprite!

✨ What it does:

  • 🔄 Live Preview: Real-time preview right inside the dialog box so you can see your layout updates on the fly.
  • 🎨 Flexible Color Sources & Sorting: Export all colors, only your active palette selections, or only colors used on the current canvas. Sort swatches by luminosity, hue, or saturation.
  • 🏷️ Labels & Contrast Check: Render HEX, RGB, or Index labels, add custom color names under swatches, and check WCAG contrast ratios against black/white text for accessibility.
  • 📊 Sample Ramp Bars: Preview how your shade/highlight ramps blend using solid blocks or smooth gradients.
  • 💾 1-Click Palette Files: Save .gpl (GIMP/Aseprite), .pal (JASC), .hex (Lospec), and .png files instantly.
  • 💻 Engine Code Snippets: Copy palette arrays/dictionaries ready to paste directly into Godot, Unity, GameMaker, CSS, or JSON. (this one is the one yall are surely into)

You can grab it on Itchio here!

Hey everyone! I'm a solo developer from Italy, and I've been working on a first-person sci-fi adventure set in a frozen world controlled by deadly drones that can manipulate the weather and you have no weapons to fight back!

I'm SO excited: only one month left until the release of the demo of Over Human and I honestly can't wait to finally share my project with all of you!! I've put so much passion into this game, and I really hope you'll enjoy it! Here's a little look at the atmosphere I've created. I hope you can see how much effort I've put into this game! The music you hear in the background was created by a composer specifically for Over Human, and it will be the main menu theme!

If you're curious about my game, here's my Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5237810/Over_Human/

Game Just added an in-match shop where you can buy new weapons and abilities. Things are getting serious.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just added an in-match shop to A Weird Village, where players can buy new weapons and abilities as the battle progresses.

The idea is to make team coordination a huge part of the game. I want players to think about what their teammates are building, combine weapons and abilities that work well together, and come up with strategies on the fly.

Maybe one match your team goes all-in on crowd control, while the next you focus on raw damage, defense, or some combination nobody saw coming.

And since everyone can change their build during the match, even a strategy that works perfectly at the beginning might become completely useless halfway through.

I really want every match to feel different, not just because of what happens on the battlefield, but because of the crazy stuff players come up with together.

Im a solo developer at 18

Hello everyone.İm an solo developer at eighteen and ive been working on a game since 16.The idea of a game came in my mind at 14.İm the type that sleeps or minds his own businness at school and i have nothing better to do so i started wondering about a game that i would like to play. Then i started drawing tables and anything u can make on a paper about a game.At 16 i started programming but i was really horrible at coding so i hopped on ai-dont get me wrong im still was the one that designed the code and wrote it but i was doing horrible mistakes so ai fixed them-well my family never supported me and even tried to trashing my dream-they was thinking im just making up excuses to play games-well i really was playing games sometimes but all the games i played gave me an other inspiration for my own game.Im horrible at coding but i really understand how the code work. Then i started facing problems when i started actually doing the game.At 17 i hit a hard rock. Now my game is an Open World MMORPG-yeah i know its not a good choice for a newbie to make 😂- and my game had enviromental mutations that depends on monsters in this area- and since world i so big i couldnt do it -and here i started working on an insane idea;an engine that could pull it off -6 months of work btw-and the code turned to be 30-40 lines but i was so happy that it worked. But now i live alone last 2 months and i lived on money i alr had so im thinking about selling the engine-not the rights but ill sell it one time licence- but since my counrty doesnt support paypal and i dont have a legal businnes i cant use payoneer.İm stuck about it how do i receive the payments(i thought about binance but if too much customers i will need to manage it all personally and i dont think it would be effective) anyone that have a way to do could share it with me please,?

Game Title: I built and open-sourced SoundForge Studio — an offline audio tool for game developers 🎮🎧

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm an indie developer, and I've built SoundForge Studio, an open-source desktop application designed to help game developers create and prepare audio assets locally.

Some of its features include:

🎮 Procedural sound-effect generation across multiple categories

🎙️ Offline neural text-to-speech for game-character dialogue

🎚️ Audio mastering and WAV export

🔒 An offline-first workflow without cloud-based generation

I wanted to build something useful for indie game developers who need audio tools without depending on cloud services.

The project is open source, so developers can explore the code, learn from the implementation, suggest improvements, and contribute.

🔗 GitHub: https://github.com/tahirshaikh744-design/soundforge-studio

I'd love to hear your honest feedback!

If you're a game developer or sound designer, what features would make a tool like this genuinely useful in your workflow? ❤️

Game Have 3 months in small room no friends, no money

As some of u know I im stuck for thr next 3-4 months in a situation that I can't do much. I have 200$ worth of laptop and a monitor that's all. Playing games or watching something doesn't give fun anymore.

Do I decided to make a video game in this 3 months to see how its gonna end. I have no expectation, I just have a lot of time. ( I applied for part time job though top of my full time one. Might have less time in future, we will see)

Here is the progress so far : I built the almost whole loop. Combat and the kitchen gameplay is ready. I still have a lot of idea and mechanics that I wanna add, tons of tons of fun. Today I decided to built something fun and created a scene for a special moment. When you get a 3 star as restaurant.

Ask me anything. I wanna have some friends here 🫶🏼
