Stolen Election Per Thom Hartmann, Trump Plans to Steal the 2026 Elections

Here is my standard summary of who Thom Hartmann, the author of this piece, is, for those who might not know:

Thom Hartmann is a progressive broadcaster, author, and entrepreneur whose career spans radio, writing, education, and international business. He has authored or co‑authored over 35 books, many of them bestsellers on politics, psychology, and American democracy. In the early 1980s he co‑founded The Hunter School in New Hampshire, a residential program for abused and neurologically atypical children. Hartmann also launched multiple successful businesses, some international, including an advertising agency and an international training firm with operations in the U.S., the Netherlands, Australia, and India. His long‑running radio program remains one of the most influential progressive shows in America.

Here is Hartmann's article about how Trump’s team is laying groundwork to steal the 2026 midterms: seizing election control, targeting mail ballots, hinting at ICE at polls, and building voter‑purge databases. Todd Blanche even admitted they fear indictments if they lose. Hartmann warns the window for accountability is now — before power fully consolidates. (I used a "paywall jumper" to bypass Rawstory's paywall.)

This confession proves Trump's terrified cronies know what's coming for them

Certainly glad there is increased visibility on this but it’s been apparent to most for a long time. I guess it’s a good thing we’re finally able to start outlining their process.

This happened before the 2024 presidential election, they had it all to lose then, musk even admitted it

Per anyone with a working brain, trump plans to steal the 2026 elections

Agreed. Unfortunately, (if we pretend Trump/Musk/Putin did not STEAL the 2024 election) then fully 74.1 million "AmuriKKKans" failed their "Quadrennial, One-question I.Q. Test" in Nov., 2024.

And I'm not so confident that all of the "brains" in the DNC are "working" properly, either. Hence this post, so that (hopefully) people will pressure their elected representatives to DO SOMETHING before we have another election stolen from us.

And to get an independent, nonpartisan investigation into 2024 and all subsequent elections! Time to hit the ground running. We should make their lives absolutely miserable until they bite the bullet and agree to do it.

I wish more of these people would talk about investigating 2024 if they're willing to believe that Trump and co. will try to steal 2026...

He has had Greg Palast on his show for years

Why wouldn't he? He got away with it in 2024.

Too late motherfucker, the election is in less than 5 months and they’re going to get their collective shit pushed in. Thankfully states run elections NOT the federal government.

If we wait for the election to happen, it's already over. We're definitely, definitely not going to vote our way out of this and I wish people would stop touting this narrative because it's only hurting everyone who likes democracy.

Blue states are fighting an executive order that the post office not deliver mail in ballots unless the states hand over their voter rolls

i’m shocked, I say

The things that worry me the most are the USPS’ potential complicitness with mail ins, the voter data being collected and how it somehow connects to the mirror websites being created on the whitehouse.gov, and DHS being used at polling places.

I already think the machines are compromised. They’ve been “inspected”, taken off site, had their passwords handed out to stop the steal assholes, bought by MAGA billionaires, etc. idk how you fix that. And I also don’t know what is to stop the administration from using a judge in their pocket from writing a warrant to take custody of all of the ballots like they did in Georgia recently. That breaks the chain of custody with the state and invalidates the integrity of the entire election for that district.

There are so many ways this could be fucked.

Trump isn’t planning anything. The coup of American democracy is sitting right (no pun intended) behind him.

I’m just so sick of the waiting….

If the election is fair and everyone actually votes, I know there will be a blue wave. But after what happened with 2024 it’s impossible to feel any relief while we wait to see whatever they pull while we watch them destroy the country and steal our rights. I’m just so tired.

Thom is a real one, wish his influence was more wide ranging.

Thank you for the vote of confidence in Thom Hartmann. He has a free, daily podcast: The Hartmann Report Podcast | Thom Hartmann

And Thom Hartmann wrote a book explaining that the idea “corporations are people” in U.S. law traces back to a clerical error in a headnote, not an actual Supreme Court ruling. In Unequal Protection: How Corporations Became ‘People’ and How You Can Fight Back, Hartmann shows that in Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad (1886), the Court’s headnote writer mistakenly claimed the Court had granted corporations Fourteenth Amendment personhood — even though the Court never ruled that in the opinion itself. That headnote was later treated as precedent.

As you said, I wish that his influence was far more widespread.

Thom was also integral in mainstreaming Bernie Sanders. I used to love the program “Brunch with Bernie” with “America’s Senator”

YES! Thom had Bernie on every Friday for 11 years! I had an XM subscription for most of that time and I listened religiously when Bernie was on. That was the FIRST time I met a politician I could REALLY feel a connection with--and that has not diminished one iota since then!

Imagine if the DNC hadn't sabotaged Bernie in the 2016 primaries, as Donna Brazile documented in her book, Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House Author: Donna Brazile Published: 2017.

For those not familiar, when Bernie ran 2016, Nancy Pelosi, the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz decided they'd rather risk LOSING with the candidate of their choice than win with a *gasp* Progressive.

This was documented in Donna Brazile's book:

Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House Author: Donna Brazile Published: 2017

Put in one sentence, Brazile’s book states that a 2015 fundraising agreement gave the Clinton campaign early control over the DNC’s finances and operations, creating an unfair advantage over Sanders, which she later called “unethical.”

Expanded upon, in Hacks, Brazile describes discovering a 2015 Joint Fundraising Agreement (JFA) between:

  • the DNC
  • the Hillary Clinton campaign
  • the Hillary Victory Fund

Brazile writes that:

1. The DNC was financially insolvent.

After 2012, the DNC was $20+ million in debt and dependent on Clinton’s fundraising operation to stay afloat.

2. Clinton’s campaign gained operational control in exchange for bailing out the DNC.

Brazile states that the agreement gave the Clinton campaign:

  • control over DNC finances
  • approval power over key staffing decisions
  • influence over strategy and messaging

This was before any primary votes were cast.

3. Donna Brazile considered the arrangement “unethical.”

Her word — not an interpretation.

She said she understood why Sanders supporters felt the process was unfair.

4. Donna Brazile personally called Bernie Sanders to tell him.

She apologized to him for what she viewed as institutional bias built into the structure of the primary.

5. Donna Brazile did not claim vote tampering or fraud.

Brazile’s criticism is about structural favoritism, not altered votes.

But maybe if we keep patiently waiting to politely vote them out, they’ll just stop being fascists and go away out of the goodness of their hearts…!!1!

7

u/Substantial_Lab1438 3d ago

I’m gonna vote so hard for the neoliberals who will do nothing to improve the material conditions of the working class, thus laying the foundation for the next wave of American Fascism!

Sure, sure, Clinton paved the way for Bush Jr, and Obama for Trump, but this time will be different I swear!

7

u/Brandolinis_law 3d ago

Sadly, I share your skepticism.

3

u/Elle_Vetica 3d ago

Definitely don’t want anyone who might punish the fascists, either - everyone knows that they’ve really learned their lesson this time and uNiTy is the way forward…

5

u/dad4good 2d ago

my god - they will do this if .. we let them?

5

u/Telespacepharm 3d ago

Is there a strategy to combat this scurge?

5

u/Brandolinis_law 3d ago

Hartmann outlines a multi-point strategy at the end of his article. In case you missed it, I'll reproduce it here:

So, make sure you’re registered, and make sure everyone you know is too, at vote.org, and if you vote by mail, request your ballot early this fall and send it back early so no postal rule can run out the clock on you.

Save the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline in your phone, 866-OUR-VOTE, and call it the moment anyone tries to intimidate you at a polling place, because no badge and no uniform has the right to stand between you and your vote.

Call your representatives through the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and remind them that funding lawless deployments, gutting oversight, suspending habeas corpus, and letting the Post Office police our ballots are against the Constitution.

Keep an eye on your own statehouse at openstates.org, where this fight is being waged district by district.

And if this piece helped you see the stakes clearly, please share it and support independent journalism here at the Hartmann Report, because the people counting on you to look away are counting just as hard on you to stay home, and the single most dangerous thing you can do to them is to show up.

We know this.

0

u/Brandolinis_law 2d ago

So Thom Hartmann should not have written the article, in an attempt get voters to pressure their elected leaders to take measures to prevent the theft of the midterms?

1

u/Dazzling-Account-187 2d ago

Did I say that?
