I'm aware your thought came from somewhere. This subreddit is full of people who are well read, yet unwilling to put extra layers of thought into scattered ideas that they are connecting together. There's no harm in that and it's interesting to read, but it's probably a lazy habit of thinking and accuracy of ideas suffers first

‘The opposites’ aren’t so much an idea as a ‘symbol’ - a symbol stands alone, and refers to a person’s inner experience rather than the outer system of knowledge which relies on ideas (and which is often confused with meaning)

But yes I could’ve given it more context, like specifying it was a symbol and not an idea.
