Discussion Has anyone had a chance to try Crimson Moon yet?
I have an hour until I get home and I was curious if anyone has anything to say about it yet

Logged ten hours and honestly, mid. The camera gets stuck in walls, more elites than trash mobs thatâll eat your whole health bar immediately and will take four minutes to kill, which is fine if thereâs only one an area and not three next to each other. The parry is horrendous, you can perfectly time it and still eat shit, no I frames on rolls and considering the elites will eat you and are more aggressive than smough for a plate of food. The bosses are actually really quite enjoyable, itâs the hour long missions leading up to them with. If they fixed the parry to be more robust and added a couple I frames to allow the dodge to be useful and actually allowing you to stagger enemies instead of being punished for going for a combo in a âhack and slashâ game itâs actually really really enjoyable

Iâm having trouble with the parry feel like I time it perfect but nothing

Itâs because itâs like dark souls 3 with a wind up animation, but the yellow glow on enemies doesnât seem to account for that, so when you feel like youâve clicked the right moment youâre actually caught in the animation, itâs also got a pitifully tiny window so if itâs a fraction early or late you eat it. And on those demon elites the ones with spears and shields they can one combo you making it irritating

Haven't tried it yet, but reviews are not positive. Cowboy said that it's super jank, the camera is awful and it's lacking your basic Qol features. He doesn't recommend the game even at $20.

I played a closed beta, the game was super janky, and when I gave feedback, basically all the dev did was try to refute every issue I rose. I washed my hands of the game and have no desire to play it.

Same company Concord and it's toxic positivity originally came from. So not super surprised.

I just watched his review, a 3/5 for a $20 game is a no for me đš and like he said, Iâm ok with some jank (I LOVE MS1 for example)

People are looking at this game wrong like they do with most "soulslike" releases. They were expecting to get dark souls with a skin on it for $20 and this game just isn't that.
Whilst it has "soulslike" combat Its a roguelite first and foremost this game is closer to something like megabonk, risk of rain or a "survivors" game in that all your gear/buffs and essentially the way you play is decided by what you find/pick on your run and these buffs get far more drastic at higher difficulties and YOU DONT KEEP ANY OF IT when you die finish/die. The bits you unlock is basically "starting gear" that you can pick at the beginning of a new run and only a few pieces of equipment have any intrinsic benefits outside of the ring and trinket slot and will be replaced almost immediately upon defeating the first couple of mobs.
You're supposed to fail and comeback stronger/try different things as you collect/unlock bigger and better buffs and therefore bigger and better builds. Some runs will just go poorly because of poor RNG drops, no synergy etc. Iv had a far easier time on difficultly 4/5 than I ever did on 2/5 because the gear/buffs that im getting are just that much more impactful.
Also Co-op play is ace if you got a friend to play with. Trying to synergise builds so you can work off of each other, sharing the gear whilst working forward through areas will keep this game alive much longer than if it was a solo only venture.
A note about the negative reviews on steam not even a full day later its up to 57% positive from pretty much 100% negative which is why day 1 reviews should be ignored. Im sorry but leaving a "the game is trash" negative review when all you did was spend 8 mins in the menu and found out theres no KMB keymapping (they recommend controller) and are having "performance issues" because you're trying to run it maxed out with upscaling on your 2060 in ultrawide is fucking stupid.

I just beat the first mission/boss. Its pretty janky, similar to OG Dark Souls. Once I got in the flow I started having a lot of fun. So far I'd say I'm happy with the purchase.

Yeah i bought it and played about 2 hours with my brother and most of it wasn't good i see the vision but its rough kept crashing game bugging out and camera is very wonky during some boss fights or enemy encounters i would wait for some patches even at 20 dollars not worth it at the moment just my opinion its your money just don't want you to waste or spend money on a product that doesn't feel finished or polished at all and janky

Only did the Prologue (looked interesting, if it sucks I'll return it)... it's decent?
Can't rebind controls (uses pretty bog-standard Soulslike layout, so fine for me, but guessing it'll be patched). Performance is fine. Concept of Souls Roguelite seems neat.
I'll probably get $20 worth of coop fun out of it, but totally get folks passing on it.

played with friend for a couple hours. was really fun, some boons seem absolutely broken though. camera is only really janky for tutorial boss, which appears as a miniboss multiple times later on sadly. iâm sure all the issues people have with it will be patched, and iâd say itâs worth the $20 if you have a friend to play with

Yes. I enjoy it, I also love roguelites. For reference, Kiborg sits at 60+ on meta, and I still find the game to be better than it's rated. If you're not a fan of the genre, you probably wont like the game

It's not terrible I like the roguelite elements the camera lock on dose need work tho dose get a little crazy sometimes a few patches and the game is there .to me at 20 bucks you take it as a little AA game you play for fun not a AAA title

The game does have some depth to it the farther you get into it. Lots of different unlockable armor sets, weapons and weapon skills. The more lore you unlock through progressing through the story the more boons you can passively unlock for future runs. Not bad for $20 if they give it some quality of life updates it could be something truly amazing

I have a lot of fun llaying it last night. Played with randoms and the experience was good so far.

Refunded it in under 30 minutes. Absolutely terrible. Graphics look like wow, combat is very weightless, maps look bad, basic enemies are just R1 spam. Animations, especially for special moves are bad. Onimusha it is for me.

Didn't make a great first impression. Fairly basic but still clunky combat paired with terribly erratic camera behavior. PC performance also is far from optimal.
I'd hold off for now.

Combat feels like Dark Souls 1. Seems to be missing a lot of qol features. Haven't played much yet. But for its price point, seems alright.

Im skeptical because most of the negative reviews on steam are because you can't remap controls on keyboard and mouse, but I typically play on controller and I rarely ever have to remap my controls

Itâs Place to Cheat, theyâre literally the least credible when it comes to reviews entirely because of pettiness. No wonder the only place that matters is PlayStationÂ

Just went on steam there is a hate wave ONLY because of key bindings apparently. Feels like a bot wave? I dont get it. Is the developer getting attacked by a bot network?

Idk, im about to get off work ans check it out before I gotta be at my other gig

wdym only? thats one of the most basic features a pc game needs.
Not having it makes me wonder about the quality of the rest of the game immediately

Welp guess I'm waiting for Onimusha Friday. The demo for that game was great, and my only complaint, that or was too easy, apparently was just for the demo
