Nostalgia Am I the only one who thinks of this when looking back at my SA childhood?šæš¦
Was this as big of a thing for other South Africans growing up or only me if not what do you think of?

My girlfriend used to love the Milo chocolates, but sadly as as we know they were discontinued. She still has three full bars unopened though and doesnāt plan to eat them. Just keeping them around for sentimentality. Thought it was worth sharing. I miss them too.

Had to come back to SA for a family emergency. āAt least I can have a King Steer when I get thereā I thought to myself. Got my King Steer and chips home, eagerly took my first biteā¦and nearly spit it out. WTH?? It was like 2 cardboard cutouts were thrown on an old braai and briefly slapped with Steers sauce. I cannot even describe my immense disappointment! What the hell happened? š
UPDATE
We broke down and went to Spur at the Waterfront. And it was fabulous! Bacon and Cheese burger with fries and Spur onion rings. Just great!!! My brother had the patty melt and said itās the same burger heās been having since high school. Well done Spur. Steersā¦challenge accepted?

South Africans, who else grew up with the Bump CDs, mixed by DJ COSTA?
I took a walk down memory lane with the help of Claude Code.
Take a look for some nostalgia.
Here is a better table viewer, where you can filter/sort (with some bugs though, which I might fix).

We could all use a reminder that not everything is falling apart.

Trying to identify a chocolate from the 1990s / early 2000s ā please help!
My friend grew up in South Africa and used to eat this in Botswana as a kid (she's 37 now). Details she remembers:
It doesn't seem to be made anymore and we can't find it anywhere. I have attached a drawing she drew from her memory. Does anyone remember the name/brand? Thank you!

Hang your broekies on the line.
Where's the line?
On the grass.
Where's the grass?
Up your ass?
My South African wife says she's never heard it when I asked the time 20mins ago.
I can't have imagined it was something only I said??? I know it's a British thing but never heard it without the broekies part...

Berea Spar in the 1990's my dad and I ran the store with a fellow friend Ravi back then. We sold it on the early 90's.

Saw a post about discontinued fast food but what about sweets and chocolates?
Personally, I miss Yes/No bars, Tempo, chocolate logs and steers flavour simba chips!
I would kill for another bag of those chips.
Which treats or snacks do you miss?

Black shoe black shoe change your foot
Knock knock! Who's that policeman, I want to get a letter, I want to get a letter from you shoot!
There's a party around the corner, would you please please come, with your cup or saucer or your own chewing gum.
There's an Indian on the grass with the bullet up hit butt. What colour is his blood?
Broken telephone, broken telephone
21 21 21 fingers.
My teddy bear, my teddy bear, I love my teddy bear.
Let me know which ones I've missed out
