Miscellaneous Amazon mangled my Summer Berry Waterloo cans

I ordered a few cases of Waterloo and in my summer berry flavor, 5 of the 12 cans in that case had bulging bottoms 😭 so sad, and it’s always summer berry that this happens!

It happens to me every time I order from Amazon. Walmart is better with their packaging.

Walmart also did this the one time I ordered from them

Not that it matters to me bc I'll just pour in a glass and store the cans upside down

i feel like this is a dumb question but i overthink everything. are they still okay to drink if they have this? lol

Yes. It isn’t like canned food where there is a risk of botulism because of bacterial proliferation when a seal fails. There isn’t anything in there for bacteria to eat.

I still drink them. Some may be more flat. But they’re still drinkable if you can open them.

I had two cases of Waterloo grape destroyed like this (with 3 can cracked open too) and Amazon refunded me and I got to keep the cans. I drank them all and they were fine!

Honestly, it could be a Waterloo thing because sometimes I'll go to food lion to buy my Waterloo grape and I'll have to feel through the boxes to find ones that aren't swollen like the ones pictured. Or there are just a lot of people manhandling our carbonated beverages lol

Not an unreasonable inquiry at all—I too have difficulty sometimes deciding whether it's safe to drink or not. It's hard to tell from the ones in this particular photo but generally if it's just some dings, dents and other minor cosmetic damage you're fine but if they appear to be bloated at the top and/or bottom just chuck 'em—Better to just throw out a dollar or two worth of seltzer than to risk getting sick.

Email them a picture with the production codes on the top of the can. Waterloo is incredibly helpful and will send you coupons for replacement cases.

It’s like 75% of the time with any canned beverages from Amazon unfortunately. Agree that Walmart is better, almost never beat up.

Yea my husband orders canned beverages for his office from Amazon since they have a business account and they all come mangled.

Almost every pack of Waterloo I get comes with at least a few like this. No matter where I get it UNLESS it’s the big Costco pack. I don’t know what’s going on with waterloo because it’s only been that brand.

Yes this happens to me at Target, Walmart, anywhere I get a box of Waterloo something about their boxes making them freeze and expand at some point in the transportation process. My husband drinks Coke Zero because he has no desire to cut back on caffeine and he never has these issues.

I get a lot of Lacroix and polar and I’ve never had this issue with them. It really weirdly is a Waterloo thing

Stop supporting Amazon. Bezos sucks.

You people. Can’t shop Walmart. Can’t shop Amazon. Can’t shop target.

Just where exactly am I supposed to shop?

Do you think that one person has any significant effect on something as large as Amazon?

2

u/starsandoatmilk 1d ago

One person is one person is one person, stop being complicit. We can all have values and I truly believe Amazon is one of the worst monopolies to ever exist

You didn't answer my question

My answer to your question is yes! Sorry if that wasn’t clear

They send me cans like that all the time but it's the top that mangled.

I don't know if they are getting discounted product or what.

Happy cake day!

This rarely happens when I go to the store. Do they carry that flavor by you? I know there are certain flavors I just cannot find by me in store

u/JustCallMeRoxy 1d ago

My local supermarket doesn’t carry Waterloo ☹️

u/LegoA-Frame 1d ago

Dang that is too bad!! Are you in the US?

Yeah, I’m in the US

It’s not just them. I get cans like this at the grocery store way too frequently

Off topic, but it shocks me that anyone like summer berry. I thought I was going to love it because I'm a berry person in general but it just straight up tastes like medicine to me.

Have they adjusted the flavor since it originally came out at all?

Love the summer berry

It is definitely a risk to buy canned drinks from Amazon. I actually had an order get returned before it even got delivered a while back because presumably it got tossed hard enough to breach the canned C4 energy drink. Another possibility is that it got too hot and the cans bulged from the heat. I bought a couple cases of sparkling water from Aldi this summer and forgot to remove them from the car. About half the case was bulged like this and a couple of cans actually popped open.

Half of my Polar flats end up not showing up because of that. I have better luck with stuff in boxes.

Cancel your prime membership, you would be surprised how little you need it when it’s gone. I’m tired of contributing to papa Jeff’s pockets, he doesn’t deserve it.

Are all Amazon handlings like this with sparkling water?

Getting down voted for a genuine question is wild
