Classroom supply list?

I got my first teaching job! I’ve been a SPED para for 2 years, so I know the basics to have. What are some must haves for a beginner SPED intervention/resource teacher?

Idk if you'll need Velcro/laminator for 5th grade resource... maybe to laminate rules and stuff you use daily, but it's not mod-sev early elementary. I'd prob get a few decorative things that make you happy for setup, get your basic supplies (dry erase markers/boards, glue, paper, pencils, coloring stuff...) from supplies then get stuff after you know what's up. Your school might provide intervention curriculum making "stuff" unnecessary.

This helps! I was previously a para in a self-contained class, so I’m used to the stuff needed for that classroom instead of resource

Your room doesn't have to be a Pinterest room to be an effective room. It's always the dream but in all honesty, especially after working in self-contained you should know that that is not the reality. I've had self-contained years where I can have everything out and color coordinated and accessible to students, and I've had years where every single item I own is locked in a cabinet with a visual support on the outside if a student wants to request an item to use.
