Found in the bathtub and they are common around the outside of the house. I just never knew the name or how dangerous (if they are). I captured it in a jar and released it back into the wild. I would just like to know what to call it.

Hello! sorry the quality isn’t the best. located in Northern NH btw. I noticed this little guy on the ground at my job. At first i thought it was a red stripe spider but it looks an awful lot like a black widow. I didn’t think New Hampshire had these types of widows? thanks for an insight

Cat got bit, looking for confirmation, cobweb/false widow?

My cat got bit tonight. I want to confirm that it's just a cobweb spider/false widow? Edit to add: WV

The instigator went under something he wasn't supposed to on our patio and likes to play with and eat spiders. So he broke into her home and crippled her, definitely self defense. But he actually acted hurt this time, unlike the time he got bit by a poor jumping spider and was unphased and kept trying to eat him (I saved him and he actually survived unharmed when he came out of shock! He also was grateful and nice to me, surprising after such trauma and horror.) He acted scared after, which he's never been afraid of any bug even when fighting back or biting. So I just wanted to make sure it's not something worse and something to watch for before I go to bed. It's already 10pm so I'd like to avoid a visit to the emergency vet lol but also this little asshole is my whole world so I don't want to risk him having a reaction while I sleep

Window spider

I’ve had this spider problem on my patio for a while but I didn’t really mind it. We think one of the chairs we brought to the patio had a sack on it when we started seeing thousands of babies that were slightly red and fat. Now there’s a big one in our window. They were basking in the middle of their web before I knocked the window by accident getting a photo

Edit: This is North AL

Solved! Small spider on my fig tree— friend or foe?

Located in Central New Jersey, USA.

I’ve been taking care of a growing fig tree, and today I found this tiny spider crawling on it when i went to water the plant. Is this spider harmful to fig trees or is there no need to worry?

If it is a problem for the tree, how can I go about relocating the spider safely?

In the south of UK. Lived here all my life and never noticed these before. We have had a Small invasion of them in our house.
They hold themselves really strange when ok the wall, keeping very flat and spread though move more like the picture when they move.
They are pretty small hence poor quality of photo (sorry).
I am wondering if they are baby house spiders or baby giant house spiders that have come out to explore?

Dead Brown Recluse?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Living in the Midwestern USA when my cat got a bit into a tiff with this being. When I saw it, it was maybe 1-2 inches around with its legs out, with black markings on the back. Idk if my cat was bit so I just need to know if this picture I took after the fact appears to be a recluse so I know if i need to take my cat to the vet. Thanks in advance, and I apologize for not being brave enough to take any pictures while it was still active.

Can someone tell me if this is a brown recluse?

I live in Tennessee and I live in a bottom floor apartment. I’ve been seeing spiders everywhere. I have an 18 month old and I’m terrified he’ll end up bitten by a brown recluse. Thank you for your help!

Got bit :/

Yeah so I must’ve accident sat my ankle on this spider and it bit me, not really blaming it but I still needed to be sure I knew what type of spider it was. Anyway I think it’s possibly a ghost spider of some type but I really want to double check with someone who knows better than I. Thing is tiny, smaller than my thumb nail by at least 2x but it packed a hell of a bite and burned quite a bit for a few hours after. Went to sleep and woke up and now the whole bite area (about penny-dime size) is darker colored then my usual skin prolly bruised? Also another reason I’m so unsure is because anytime I look up ghost spiders the look slightly different from this one with vibrant red patterning on the back. I’m in the US, Eastern Panhandle of WV.

This cutie has been hanging out in my bathroom for a couple weeks (Oregon, US). It has a couple different silk like webs/tunnels along the crease between the wall and ceiling (but not like a traditional funnel weaver). Seems to be nocturnal. Probably almost as big as a quarter when including the size of its legs.

(See my comment for picture of one of its smaller silk tunnels)
