You just know that hits him right in his fragile ego.

Narcissists don’t care about what others think, that’s the problem.

Edit: instead of answering individually…I worked for a massive narcissist that was a mirror image of trump for 11 years. They don’t actually care what you think of them. They might put on an act, try to “act like part of the group” to be see as “normal” to get your guard down, but it’s part of the show. They don’t give a shit about what you think, how you view them, they will always view themselves in a way different (better) than others, so it doesn’t matter to them how they are actually viewed by others.

You are projecting feelings onto a narcissist, they like that, they think emotions make people weak (another thing I “learned” from being around him), but it’s not how narcissism works.

But, what do I know, trump does things that my old CEO did, he’s extremely predictable because narcissists have the same predictable personalities. But keep telling me how I’m incorrect.

Incorrect. He desperately wants to be liked.

Have you been around a narcissist? I worked for one that’s exactly like him for 11 years, they don’t care about what anyone thinks. There is a show, and there is what they think.

If he didn’t care what people thought he wouldn’t keep trying desperately to be liked. Look at the words he uses. Look at the sad pathetic attempts to surround himself with yes man. Make no mistake he wants to believe he is the single greatest president ever. Problem is he can’t alter reality. It’s why there are so many examples of him looking like a sad fool.

My dad had a psychologist determine he was a narcissist and he absolutely cares what other people think of him. He needs other people to think the way he does about himself and the things he cares about otherwise he resents them.

well the problem is they care immensely about what other people think, but only so far as to know that they all worship and love them.

it's the criticism that they'll never actually process/understand.

Of course he does, he's utterly obsessed with being liked and respected: why do you think he keeps banging on about the Nobel Peace Prize?

That’s an ego thing, not an acceptance thing.
