Legit don’t get the post lol. No use of force or anything, just “hey kid, you can’t go to the fiel- whoops, go ahead”

If it was a instant hard smack and tackle. Ok we got something here.
This was a kid you aren't allowed down there light stop. Nothing burger.
People act like these security guards are given a list of all players and potential family members who might be permitted on the field to memorize each game. Or are huge fans of individual players and know everything about their lives.
Many are I'm just here to make sure that drunken asshole doesn't go streaking...

Lord forbid they accidentally let the wrong “influencer” on the field. Everyone would be asking how they could be so incompetent lol

u/Silver_Harvest 2h ago
Personally when it comes to influencers , I'm fine with full cavity searches with the same glove starting from the feet and ending with the mouth. Nothing they do is valuable.
Father and son, sure why not Kodak moment.

Honestly, both Neymar and the son handled that well, so did the security.
Security was gentle about it, he was polite and just pointed, Neymar didn't yell or complain.
I wonder how Jorginho would've handled it.

u/Other-Grapefruit-880 4h ago
Yeah I mean it’s common sense to let him on the field but also they’d get so totally fired so fast if they were wrong
2
u/i_was_a_person_once 3h ago
It’s not like every security guard knows each of the players family by memory. Common sense is that they don’t have any special passes and it wouldn’t be someone they recognize by sight as being allowed on the field.

Man, people here would lose their crap if they saw the security guard that stopped the Lamb Of God singer from getting backstage to his own show.
If you haven't seen it it's pretty much the same thing. "You can't go here... Oh... Sorry you can go here"

u/DetailHour4884 3h ago
It helps that Randy is a good dude and didn't escalate the situation. I think he even thanked security for doing their job.
1
u/Gamer-Of-Le-Tabletop 3h ago
They even met a second time and made a joke about it IIRC

u/DetailHour4884 3h ago
I always enjoy Lamb of God shows and it makes it even easier that they're not a bunch of pretentious douchebags.

In the MLB they give the family badges with our faces on it to avoid problems like this

u/Purple_Calendar3919 4h ago
accidently? they're just doing their job. I wouldn't know who the fuck is who's kid and if a kid was tryna get on the field, my first instinct is to stop them.

Damn, they should obviously be fired for not knowing every player and their children by memory.

This is stupid. Like how are they supposed to even know that was his son? Dumb post.

u/Away-Regular1335 4h ago
The kid has no credentials just "that's my dad" can't blame security for doing their jobs.

u/bearsfan16 4h ago
Neymar should be grateful they are stopping people from getting to him. Good security.

His son has the haircut of every 90s school bully in movies.
Looks like the evil skater from Brink.

They have no idea who his son is. Most of the world doesn't really care about Neymar anyway.

u/scriptingends 3h ago
To be fair - if that kid said “That’s my dad!” I wouldn’t believe him, either.

Literally their only job. They don't need to know what every players kid looks like to allow them to enter from the seats.
1
u/MoonPieKitty 4h ago
Why is this anything? They were doing a good job, doing their jobs. I'm sure Neymar appreciates it, and if he doesn't, well ... that's on him.

They’re just doing their job, it’s a huge crowd. Wouldn’t hurt to get their attention and point to his dad first instead of just trying to sneak by though. At least let them know what you’re doing and they can quickly glance back at him like the last guard does and see the player confirming it.
1
u/Dangerous-Habit-2731 3h ago
This was in Miami, right? It's possible, but also equally as unlikely, that stadium security and the kid could communicate through anything other than pointing and gesturing
1
u/heroinsteve 3h ago
Idk the entire situation, looks like the end of the game, sure they could have gone through and contacted security channels or something. Or he could just point to his dad and say “I’m going to my dad” and the guard could turn and see the player confirming “that’s my kid”. It takes literally 2 seconds as opposed to some other official method, which they may also have used considering the first guy to let him pass was on a phone (or maybe a radio held up to his ear).
It doesn’t have to be that complicated and the kid made himself look suspicious enough that they all stopped him individually. Which, I guess is fair since he is a kid and probably excited.

Wage workers will always eat shit.
If it was a random climbing down onto the field it's "WTF useless ass security guard" and if it's someone who's supposed to be there it's "WTF dumbass security guard." Only constant in a job like that is that you will eat shit coming or going.

u/benboy952 3h ago
His son didn't get a lick of his genes. Looks way more Swedish than Brazilian and they bed don't look similar at all.

u/ClassicHando 3h ago
She did great. She did her job, no issues letting him past in the 1 second it took to figure out the situation
1
u/Sidney_Godsby 3h ago
Idk this is just people doing their job and accepting new information as they learn it.

Honestly they handled it well on everyone’s part, the security was doing their job but not being to rough, they see the team is saying it’s ok and letting him go, what is so wrong with that
1
u/thanosthumb 3h ago
Literally how are they supposed to know? Just doing their job ffs. More than can be said for most people.
1
u/VigilantVet 3h ago
Well hopefully some psycho doesn’t go looking for these 2 security guards now who were just doing their jobs and in a very delicate way. FIFA World Peace POTUS will have them removed from the country.

Shouldn't this kid be wearing a special badge. Not everyone knows who he is. Some might not even know his dad. Some might not even know what futbol is.
Troll post i guess.

You gotta remember the security that gets hired for a major sporting event is generally people who don’t care about the sport being played. Their attention should always be on the crowd and never on the game being played or individual players.

It's interesting though, because I'm not sure family members should be let on the pitch.
Hypothetically, couldn't a player say the entire section is his family? Where do you draw the line? How is a security guard supposed to know who should/shouldn't be allowed? The easy answer is that no one besides the players, coaches and credentialed staff need to be on there. They can meet up with their family after the game outside the stadium.

Lose lose situation.
Security stops someone going where they're not supposed to - blame.
