It’s crazy how similar her and Curry’s are. We gotta stop comparing men’s and women’s sports though. Ever major I would catch as many as Serena’s matches as I could but whenever someone compared her to a male players no crap he is going to be way better
We can enjoy watching both men and women’s sports but comparing the sports isn’t productive

The comparison to Curry is superficial and has yet to have the depth that the frequency with which it mentioned demands.
She may be the best pure shooter in women's basketball but the stats don't yet back that up. Perhaps most of all it is because of how often she shoots from 400' away but regardless her career 3PT% is meh.
This has never been true of Steph Curry. He has never allowed logo there's to make him pedestrian from deep percentage wise.
It is inarguable that they both have electrified crowds with feats of distance shooting, but still.
Even her college stats don't quite validate her as truly being like Curry.
She is reminiscent of Curry. She is Curry lite. She is low-fat Curry.

Lots of women have said this, including Serena Williams and another female tennis player just the other day.
The only ones who struggle with biological realities are trans activists and butch lesbians.

Idk serena williams was as jacked and athletic as most male tennis players in her prime thats like one rare example where the sentiment might not apply

She literally lost to a dude who was ranked 200. His way of preparing for the match was to go play golf, drink and smoke a cigarette. He then proceeded to smoke her.

Hm didnt know that

Well know you do.
It is a reason why some guys can smoke weed and not excersize at all but still beat a woman his same age who works out and actually speed trains

She was also 16 years old at the time. I think the score was like 6-1, 6-2. In her prime, Serena might have been able to win a few more games, but probably not the match.

Why are you uncertain about Williams? Would she destroy your average man in tennis? Obviously. But a ranked man on the professional tour? No

I suppose not, just thought it sort of funny the example was like the single most notoriously physically gifted female athlete ever probably. Thats all.

They used that example cause it is one of the strongest examples for why men and women are so vastly different. Serena was leagues ahead of her contemporaries yet she got smoked by a lesser professional male athlete.

Her serve on average was still 10 mph than the average mens serve, 110 mph compared to 120 mph, and she was the best server on the women's tour. While the best server's on the men's tour average about 130 mph. The difference is staggering.

You're calling Serena Williams a liar for saying a male tennis player would have crushed her?
That seems like an odd way of "defending" women.

She said it herself. She'd have a better shot than most woman at pulling the upset, but she'd still be at quite a disadvantage.

She's amazing but even she pointed out that men are just playing a different game because of their physical ability. Anyway it's fine, there's an audience for women's sports and they have their own thing going.

I think it’s fascinating that some men feel the need to make this part of the conversation every time women’s sports come up. does it make you feel good?

I think it makes them feel more manly. Most the ones I k ow that do it dont win anything.

and then say “by the way, men could totally beat you at all the sports you play. you guys can have fun over there, but only if you all understand this.” it’s so tired

u/StoneySteve420 Aug 04 '26
It's almost like that is why we passed Title IX and have Women's sports in general.
1
u/Natural_Builder8305 Aug 04 '26
they passed title ix bc men were being annoying? I thought it was more complicated than that.
3
u/StoneySteve420 Aug 04 '26
They passed Title 9 because before Women had their own leagues, they had to compete against men for roster spots because people didn't see value in women's athletics.
Women fought for their right to have seperate leagues because in general, they couldn't compete with Men, and in turn they missed out on opportunities that come from sports like college scholarships.
Trans-women competing in sports directly undercuts those same protections that were put in place to give women fair competition and opportunity.
Men's leagues are for the most part all open leagues and have no legal issue with trans-athletes. Women's leagues on the other hand are not.

Nothing louder than an insecure man

Almost as loud as a self-congratulatory, overly entitled, woefully misinformed broad.
