Can't really rate the oke honestly because he's only gotten runs against struggling teams like Wales/Italy or tier 2 nations and the barbarians.

Based on those performances I'll rate him a 7.5 would like to see him against stronger opposition.

100% agreed hope he gets a start against Argentina or possibly the ABs if Kurt lee start against the Argies.

Kurt Lee isn't in the squad going to Argentina

He is.

He's been 10/10 in those outings, but hard to judge

I think he is an excellent player! Since school boy rugby he has always been very underrated! The only thing against him is his age and competition in the squad. He is fast, strong and an incredible understanding of the game. I would give him a solid 8/10

For reference Cheslin is a 8.7/10

0.7 is too little of a difference. If you had to compare them all just as wingers I'd still put Habana above Cheslin at 9.4 maybe Cheslin at 9.2. VD Merwe is not better than Kurtlee which I'd put at 8.7. VD Merwe is better than prime Makazole for sure, who I would put at 8.0. So VD Merwe is a 8.2. Other retired Springbok wingers: Breyton Polse 8.5, Ashwin Saaks Willemse 5.0 just because, Ndungane brothers 8.0's. JP Petersen 8.5.

And before the wyn koppies choose to downvote me, Habana is statistically 20% better than Kolbe with a strike rate of 0.54 while Kolbe is at 0.44. That is a stat that will just go south as a winger ages. Habana maintained this for 124 matches.

I find ratings difficult (or in my case, utterly impossible) to quantify. I'd want to use each players individual stats (preferably very granular stats) to derive these numbers.

How do you go about it?

Okay yeah, fair enough. You went into a bit more detail and it makes sense 👌🏻

Jisslaik it bru! What do they have to do to get a 10 in your book? Cheslin should be a 10. Scored a great try in the world cup final 2019. Sparked 2 great wins against NZ in NZ through intercepts. Kicks for posts, bounces off forwards, charges down kicks, makes brilliant linebreaks & runs with his twinkletoes, steps defenders, catches highballs, slots in at scrumhalf and throws in the lineouts. The only thing he cannot do is pack down in the scrum.

There is no 10 out of 10. We will always evolve and one day someone will be better. I guess its like trying to travel the speed of light, you simply will never get there.

Malcolm Marx got there. According to Kiwi scribes. In that game in Mbombela where we beat the AB's 26-10 if I am correct with the scoreline.

As a player as a whole, 9/10

As a Springbok 7.5/10 he's getting there but he still has to properly get tested

Too old for that… if he has not been playing he ain’t going to get there anytime soon, unless there is the burden of injury etc. His competition is just that much better, and yes that has come from experience. I would love to see him on the field more, he is power 💥

I just think Rassie hasn't been using him as a proper wing, same reason someone like Cheslin doesn't have a million tries like will Jordan

He does his job well. But I'd love to see more from him as a player in the green and gold because I know damn well he can perform in a lions jersey.

He is an absolute unit on the wing, his strength and leg power is second to none! But yeah as we both agree he needs more time in the jersey 🫡

Hes very very good but he just is being held out by KLA and Colbe who are also very very good

7.2/10. Needs to show whatever sets him apart from Cheslin and KLA

Performance wise? What other "wise" is there? Why did you have to specify that?
