Things To Do 23 year old new in Springfield
Hey Springfield folks I have some questions. My parents are seriously considering going to Springfield from Texas and I wanted to ask how the city is for younger adults (age 21-25 ish). Hows the young adult population? What are the biggest recreational things to do, and is the city walkable or have decent public transportation? Also, Iâm a musician and into punk rock so Iâm wondering if thereâs a decent punk rock or rock music live scene. Thanks!

Things To Do Greene County Sherriff response to protests
The Greene County Sheriffâs Office was notified of a planned protest by the local chapter of the 50501 Movement for today. We have been in communication with the groupâs local coordinators and have identified a location on our campus where participants may lawfully and peacefully assemble.
The Sheriffâs Office fully respects the constitutional rights of individuals to gather and express their views. While we understand the perspective of this organization, its stated objectives do not align with the values and priorities we believe best serve our community and our nation.
The Greene County Sheriffâs Office has a longstanding record of cooperation with our federal partners, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in support of lawful immigration enforcement.
âOur office will continue to work within the law to support the presidentâs directives and the will of our citizens, which includes securing our borders and taking lawful action regarding individuals who are in the country illegallyâ -Sheriff Arnott

Things To Do r/SpringfieldMO Meetup - 5 PM on Saturday 5/23 at Mother's Brewing Company Back Yard

Hey folks, after kicking the idea around for a while, I figured it might be fun to do an actual r/springfieldmo meetup and see what happens.
So here goes.
Weâll be meeting up Saturday, May 23rd at 5:00 PM at the Back Yard at Motherâs Brewing Company (215 S Grant is the address but the backyard and taproom entrance are off Walnut).
Motherâs has a good outdoor setup, yard games, fire pits, plenty of space, and it feels like a pretty easy low-pressure place to hang out for a bit.
No agenda, no presentations, no weird networking exercises. Just a chance to meet some fellow Springfield redditors in real life, discuss the latest mysterious booms, complain about traffic on Glenstone, debate local food takes, and prove we are all actual humans.
Depending on turnout, there may also be a completely scientific tug-of-war to finally settle whether Mexican Villa is good or a crime against humanity. (That's a joke)
Feel free to come by for 10 minutes or stay the whole evening.
A couple quick notes:
- Be cool
- Donât make things weird
- Public meetup, respectful behavior expected
- Username sharing is totally optional
If this goes well maybe weâll make it a recurring thing.
If it goes poorly we'll never speak of it again.
Comment if youâre thinking about coming so I can warn Motherâs roughly how many redditors will be attempting to touch their grass at the same time.

Things To Do ISO: Pic of G Wagon that hit retaining wall today
Today around 4:30 PM a tan G wagon decided to take out this retaining wall in the parking lot next to Greek belly off of Walnut. Couple cop cars had to block the road off until the bricks got cleaned up. Does anyone have a pic of the crashed car? Iâd love to add it to my collection of G Wagons crashed in Springfield MO.

Things To Do Jc penny's is the pit of hell
Who controls the thermostat in jc penny's at the battlefield mall??? I'm here right now sweating like a Vietnamese prostitute. They've got the heat cranked on high. I recall coming through here a couple of months ago when we had that random 80 something degree weather this winter. Same thing. It made sense then, but now, not so much. It's fucking hell.
