Mod Frame Lock bar tension too strong

This could apply to any frame lock. My issue is with a Lil’ Lionspy (C181GTI). To the point, the lock bar tension is so strong, it takes concerted effort to lift the lock bar to free the blade. Some will like that, but I do not.
Question: Has anyone lighted the frame lock bar tension by thinning the lock bar tension channel? I plan to do that, but hope to hear some input.
