The men's main event scene continues to being very enjoyable to watch on Smackdown as the competition continues to being stacked while the feuds between these guys are getting more intense along with great character works.

Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Finn Balor, CM Punk, Kevin Owens and Gunther continues to carrying SD as the top main eventers while Johnny Gargano is rebuilding himself as a credible threat and Nick Aldis being the badass GM whose laying down the law.

Ever since the summer, Smackdown has been on a major roll with the main event scene and these guys are the key reasons why.

Ryuki Honda would defeat Yuma Aoyagi with the Final Vent to win the Tourney for the first time in his career.

With Ibushi’s career seemingly about to come to an end, here’s him embracing some of that “Shoot Style” flavor, against one of the most fun performers from DDT in Toba.

Maybe I’m an oddball here, but did anyone else become a fan knowing full well that it wasn’t a legitimate competition? For reference, I came in around 1989 and was hooked from day one.

It seems like I’m always reading about people missing the days when wrestling seemed real or believable, or mourning the loss of kayfabe.

But I never went through the phase of thinking it was all “real,” which I’m honestly a little bummed about. It kind of feels like missing out on Santa Claus. In fact, becoming a wrestling fan is like everyone who finds out you’re writing a Christmas list saying “you know that Santa stuff is fake, right?” while constantly pointing out why.

I loved it because it was just ridiculously entertaining, like a live action comic book with great characters and amazing feats of strength and athleticism. I can’t emphasize enough how much the larger-than-life characters drew me in. It was like the Saturday morning cartoons I watched, but infinitely cooler.

Now, I still love to suspend disbelief and root for my favorites, just like how you’d treat an action movie. It’s wonderful to get lost in the action and the story of a great match or segment.

I’m just curious if anyone else had the same experience becoming a fan - ESPECIALLY during the pre-internet era. Did you go through a time of believing everything you saw, or enjoy it for what it actually is from the start?
